Drona Costs 60 Crores to make!!!

Bachchans are investing a whopping amount on Abhishek Bachchan starrier 'Drona'. They are taking keen interest in executing special effects in this superhero flick. Drona is their answer to 'Krrish'. The budget of Krrish was approximately Rs 45 crore and Drona will be close to Rs 60 crore. A source says, "Krrish has a tough contender in Drona. The first schedule of the film was shot in Prague. Needless to say there have been no limitations as far as the budget is concerned. In fact, one can easily say that the Bachchans are making the film. Director Goldie Behl and producer Shristi are family friends of the Bachchans, and they're working closely as a team."

^^^FYI,Ashu's first films were Baazi(Aamir Khan,Mamta Kulkarni) and Pehla Nasha(Deepak Tijori and Raveena Tandon)...Two disasters....After Baazi,he came back with Lagaan after a 6 year hiatus....

Goldie can be given a chance,he's just one film old...Agreed Bas Itna Sa khwab Hai was horrendous,but so was Baazi 🤢 (even with Aamir,who is otherwise a phenomenal actor)

Films never run because of their "class"....Swades was a flop,despite being classy and having SRK,who is arguably the most saleable star..Lagaan was only a "hit",whereas the much inferior and juvenile K3G was a superhit...Drona isnt going to be a classic,but it would work because its going to be a mass entertainer like Krrish(which IMO was a very kitschy and immature film)....

Krrish worked only coz of Hrithik....he made a superhero look convincing enuf by international standards....Infact I thght Krrish was WAY WAY better thn Superman Returns! Krrish might've been kitschy but atleast RR tried to out something diff in the form of a superhero flick....

Drona on the other hand is more on the lines of Mr India....atleast I hope it is coz I will fall off my chair laughing if AB Baby tries to do superhero-like stunts with his physique and current dhobi look😆😆😆....something along Mr India's lines requires a good director (like Shekar Kapur) and I dunno if Goldie Behl is.....the movie seems to be a mix of KMG and Krrish...I doubt Goldie would have the guts to try out Drona if RR didnt prove the genre can work in the first place. But I might give Drona a chance only coz Ab JR managed his first solo hit with Guru.

As for whether Drona will be bttr thn Krrish: I would trust Ashu over Goldie ANYDAY considerin Lagaan and Swades r two of my all time fav movies.....Ashu got me to like SRK with Swades and THAT is an achievement.

And apparently Krrish-3 will have a budget of 100 cr.....I suppose then it'll be Drona who'll have to watch out!

Sneha,Drona was conceived in May itself,even Priyanka was signed on in MAy....Before Krrish released in June end....Drona was initially supposed to be the story of a nerd in the United States,who gets his hands onto some magical gadget...I read it at the time of IIFA(which was before Krrish released)....As you might be knowing,it takes ALOT of time for a film to go on floors after it has been finalized...So Drona started around November..So rest assured,Goldie is NOT copying Rakesh Roshan..

That was the reason why I kept telling you Drona is NOT on the lines of Krrish but on the lines of Mr.India...It had INDEED been confirmed by the mid day article which spoke about a magical bracelet..But yes,one has to get act SPOT ON....

Had Aamir not trusted Ashu,we would have NEVER seen Lagaan..Had Aamir not trusted Rakeysh Mehra,we would have never seen RDB.....Give Goldie a chance,if Drona is crap,diss to your heart's content.......I say Drona would be a Big Hit,and that would subsequently prove my point that its not the actor,but the genre that works..Krrish worked because of the superhero genre,Drona would too work for the VERY SAME reason....If it doesnt,I'll eat my words

Besides,I wasnt comparing Drona and JA😊....JA would be a classic,but it wouldnt do as good business as Krrish or Dhoom 2 did,because JA would appeal to a niche audience,not to the entire spectrum......Very dicey proposition indeed!!...Drona would be another kids film,it would be super kitschy and juvenile,but it would work...

'Drona' produced and directed by Goldie Behl of 'Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai' fame, is embellished with special effects and optical opulance. It features Abhishek Bachchan as a super hero and is aimed at fans of 'Harry Potter' thrillers . Though there is nothing uncommon in the interest Amitabh and Jaya are taking in shaping of the thriller,its marketing and packaging,it is being insinuated that the Bachchan's are out to put the 2006 70 crore blockbuster 'Krrish' down and have 'Drona' surpass it.

It is no secret that Rakesh Roshan is contemplating a sequel to'Krrish' and it will star his gifted son . Hrithik.It is anybody's guess that the third part will be crafted to dazzle viewers more than the first and second part.

Hrithik Roshan is undoubtedly an actor who can excel in any role .And so is Abhishek Bachchan when he has a competent director to draw the best out of him.In Hrithik's case he had had the good fortune of working with his brilliant father in the three huge hits he has had so far .

All said and done , if 'Drona' surpasses 'Krrish' in popular appeal it should be a matter of joy for the Hindi film industry .
