How can Ira equate Anandi & Ganga?

Today Ira said Ganga was besahara and could not take a single step by herself.
Then added that today she is being helped by an educated nice guy like Jagya and she is at same stage where Anandi was when Shiv came into her life! 😲

EXCUSE ME?!! Anandi was at same stage as Ganga? Does she think she was as helpless and as less educated as Ganga is?

Anandi was Sarpanch of Jetsar - first woman sarpanch and youngest ever to become a Sarpanch. She was a graduate and topper in her education! She managed housework, social work, education and Sarpanch job simultaneously! This girl turned a small village Jetsar into a district. She educated everyone from little girls to oldies! She fought for justice and even shook established fake baba cults!

This is the woman who was honoured by the CHIEF MINISTER of State himself - who came down to Jetsar to especially meet and award her!

Did Ira forget how CM attended AnSh wedding? And how he treated Anandi with so much respect? Did she forget how whole village came for Anandi? NO way she could have had such a grand and high profile wedding for anyone despite her status! 😡

She thinks Anandi was as helpless as Ganga?! Ha! Amnesia or what? 🤢

Anandi never ran after Shiv. In fact Anandi never thought of another relationship! It was Ira's son Shiv who FIRST fell for Anandi! Later it was DS who pursued him. Even after Shiv had said Yes to DS, Anandi had got angry as to why all this was happening when she was not ready and not even consulted! It was ultimate EB and pressure from dying Bhago and both families that Anandi begged Shiv to marry her - and still she made it clear that she was doing it to fulfil her mother's last wish!

Even after marriage Anandi took time to accept Shiv.

Anandi was never "alone" or desperate for a man!

And not at all helpless, broken bird who needed support at every step!

The girl was so brilliant and such a good person that her in laws reposed all their dreams and faith in her! She was daughter and son - all combined for them! Sugna tied Rakhi to her!

No ordinary woman can earn such respect!

Ganga fell for Jagya first. She got passing marks only. At times in thoughts of Jagya and Singhs she has ignored Mannu also. Even now, despite knowing that Jagya is engaged to someone else, she is moony-eyed whenever he is around.
Ganga is bitter towards Rat's family. Anandi, whatever happens to her, is NEVER BITTER towards ANYONE. She had every right to be bitter for life towards DS, Jagya, her father, Gauri BUT she was NOT. She maintained calm and politeness even with Gauri! She was never bitter at villagers who gossiped about her or ill treated her. For all that Sanchi or Ira do to her, she is not bitter towards them.

If today, Anandi is at home it is not because Ira & Shiv gave her shelter or whatever. It is she who gave up her influential public life to dedicate herself to this family and fit into their home! Otherwise she need not sit here all day or labour around the house and listen to Ira or Sanchi's lame taunting!

Even now, as the rest of the family gossips, this woman Anandi is finding time to do social work and help people!

Ira behaves as if Shiv rehabilitated some broken woman!

Anandi is made of stuff that's beyond their comprehension! It is a shame that Ira does not realise what a gem her son and her family are lucky to get in form of Anandi!

Anandi was Shiv's choice. Not someone who he chose to help to resolve his own moral issues!

The most helpless person that Ira has around is her daughter Sanchi who cannot do anything without being a parasite on others! 🤢

Ganga was raped every night by Ratan. His family sort of wanted to toss her in the garbage and let her rot there once Mannu grew out of his age to be nursed by his mother...that makes a person bitter...that would make me bitter...for life. She was kind of a prisoner/slave in their home...being beaten so much...beaten whenever you tried to escape...it takes its toll.

Annika, in your effort to prove Anandi and Ganga different you are being most unjust to Ganga. Ganga's circunstances have Been far more horrific than Anandi's. despite this Ganga is MOVING on and making something of herself. In proving Ira wrong you are doing exactly what Ira is doing, IE demeaning one to uplift another. Ganga is not throwing herself at j either. She is very dignified in her dealings with him.

@skepblun,what you have said about anandi is absolutely true,I agree but the way you portrayed ganga in your post is absolutely wrong.

1.Not everyone can be extraordinary student,that doesn't mean we will start thinking low about a second class passing girl.

2.Ganga was never desperate for any man.It is jagya who is doing all the things for ganga on his own will and as she is dependent on jagya and singhs she can't be rude to jagya but even after that she has always tried to make him understand that what he is doing can irk haveli people.

3.Ratan singh raped ganga,jagya didn't raped anandi,plz,I know what jagya did to anandi was wrong but he atleast didn't rape anandi.Rape is the extreme torture to a woman how can you compare ganga's hatred to ratan singh and family to anandi's love towards singhs,it was insensitive in my opinion.

To praise the character of Anandi you used extremely harsh words for the character Ganga.In which sense Ira compared anandi and ganga we all know.In Ira's point of view Anandi was alone and she searched her sahara in shiv and now ganga is alone and she will find her sahara in jagya.She compared both of them because of the tag DIVORCEE,not any other things.She hardly cares about education,job because her girl is a dumb in her studies and I am hundred percent sure about that,I am saying that because if a girl is in love also first she thinks to complete her studies and then she think of doing a job and then think of getting married,most of the girls in this modern age but sanchi is ready to get married,her parents are saying that first she will complete her studies then will get married otherwise she was all ready to be a happy balika vadhu.

@skepblun thankyou for writing the post. I agree totally with you on all points. Anandi never was a helpless woman when shiv entered her life. Shiv never would have liked her if she was crying and helpless woman. He liked her strength as an independent women helping people and fighting for justice. There are several scenes he saluted her for her strength to help people even though having suffered a broken marriage. He respected her a lot and assured her to be strong and smile for herself and be happy. I miss the old sarpanch anandi that I used to see her in jeytsar. Cvs made a big mistake transferring shiv to udaipur and making anandi a mere housewife for a long time. Both shiv and anandi had a better life as a professionals working together for jeytsar. I really wish the writer concentrates on social issues rather than unwanted women and love triangles. There is no comparision between anandi and ganga here. Anandi always maintained a good professional relationship between shiv and her. Even when 3 of them shiv anandi ashima went out together it was only for work related issue like nehar project and not for fun. It was only DS who invited shiv to BH and had a clear intention to unite shiv and anandi. Shiv too respected anandi and always gave very sensible gifts before enagement and never went overboard in his behavior towards her. I personally find the current tracks of BV very weak and poor writing.

Wow sheets den so what business was Anandi conducting when's held a birthday party for shiv and when she did tel Malish or took food for him. Oh wait, it wasn't her, it was DS who FORCED the poor girl.

I know Ganga's circumstances were horrific. And I have praised her for being able to withstand all this and still emerge strong. I know she did not have any family with her.

But I have not demeaned her. I have only refuted Ira's comparisons of Anandi with bebas, besahara Ganga who in her opinion cannot take any step without others' support.

Rape and DV? Well Gehna got it from Basant. For years. But is she bitter? She had tiff with him for long still it is different. If Gehna can be with Singhs still. Then Anandi is better stuff.

Shankythebest has raised point about "desperate for a man". Well if Anandi was in Ganga's place she would have kept in her limits despite all ghulna-milna with family. She would never weep at engagement of the man who helped her (Anandi even after her marriage was fixed to Shiv, sensed that Ashima was in love with him and she offered to back out!). Anandi would never have accepted gifts from another man, let alone wear them for him.

Anandi can suffer, be tormented and dejected. But she can never be bitter. And she can survive on her own.

Regarding divorce and "saath", Anandi was depressed about divorce. But never let it affect her. And she was never hoping for a "saath". DS & co. got her a saath.

Ganga is not throwing herself on Jagya but is not away either. Anandi would never say to a man (who was not her husband), that if you like the tea then you can praise it (after serving tea made by her to him).

Anandi offered to get out of way and talked both to Shiv and Ashima (individually) when she sensed Ashima loved Shiv and perhaps she had come between them. Whereas Ganga can't help herself despite seeing Jagya engaged to someone else in front of her eyes.

Ganga is what she is. But she is NOT like Anandi.

Anandi was never searching for any sahara in Shiv nor as helpless as Ira painted her to be.

@skepblun,ganga fell in love with jagya before sanchi jagya relationship got the approval.Anandi never loved shiv before marriage.She fell in love after marriage.So it was obviously easy for her to back off when she realized ashima loves shiv.Not backing off and crying was normal for ganga because she started loving jagya.

Basant started caring for gehna,he also tried to unite gehna with her music teacher,did ratan singh loved ganga!There was a cruel ds but there was also a loving sumi and bhairon and to some extent basant.Did ganga have one caring in law!

And yes ganga is not anandi.Anandi is anandi and ganga is ganga.Anandi is happy being anandi and ganga is happy being ganga.

Ganga has said to a person who is not her husband that if you like tea you can compliment same way anandi did a head massage to a person who was not her husband.

Rejecting a gift is not a good behavior when the gift is from the person who has gifted you your life so there was nothing wrong when ganga took the gift from jagya.
