A distraught Jolie, along with partner Brad Pitt rushed to LA on Saturday so she could be at her mum's side. But the French actress finally succumbed to ovarian cancer in the Cedar Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills after a six-year battle .

Jolie and Pitt were at actress Marcheline's bedside until she died aged 56. But the presence of the Tomb Raider star's film legend dad Jon Voight was no where seen, as friends say Angelina didn't contact him, because they have not spoken in five years.

Voight, 68, walked out on Marcheline when Angelina and her brother James were just toddlers, leaving their mother to bring them up alone.

"Angie was dreading this moment. She felt she had already lost her father - and now her mom too," The Sun quoted a source, as saying.
