| Producers Paritossh Painter and Balwinder Singh Suri are miffed with Bakhtyaar Irani for refusing to dub for their serial, Home Sweet Home. His no-show at the dubbing session has resulted in a series of verbal volleys between Irani and producers.
Bakhtyaar was part of Home Sweet Home that aired on Zee Smile last year. The channel was planning a rerun of the series in the coming months, and so asked for an unmixed copy (where the dubbing and music are on separate tracks) of the series from the producers.
When the tape reached Zee, they found that one of the episodes was lacking on the dubbing front, and hence asked Bakhtyaar to come for a re-dub.

Says Paritossh, "We asked all the cast members to co-operate with us on this as it would take barely an hour to complete the dubbing.
Everyone obliged except Bakhtyaar, who told us he had no time. Later, when co-producer Balwinder Singh Suri tried to get in touch with him he was told by Tanaaz Lal (Bakhtyaar's girlfriend) that he is busy doing dance shows."

"Bakhtyaar gave us a lot of problems during shooting too, so ultimately we had to replace him with Chiku Sharda of The Great Indian Comedy Show."
Paritossh says that when they selected Bakhtyaar for Home Sweet Home he was doing Batliwalla House No 42 for Sony.
"Even though he was on another channel, we took him for our show on Zee. But then we had to face one dilemma after another. It was only because of our cordial relations with his sister Delnaaz and her husband Rajev Paul that we did not take any action against him for his high-handed behaviour," informs Paritossh.
Stinker message
When asked about his no-show at the dubbing, Bakhtyaar says, "On the day Balwinder Singh Suri approached me for the dubbing, I was busy with dance rehearsals as I have shows lined up on a cruise liner. I told him I would get back to him as I was having trouble with the phone's network. When I called later, I was told that a dubbing studio had been booked and that I had to get there ASAP.
Obviously, I could not make myself available at such short notice. Later that day, Paritossh sent me a stinker that read, 'How I regret clearing your payments. It is good to know that you are extremely busy and do not even have an hour to spare. I really hope you have a great future, which is very doubtful considering your attitude'."
Bleak home
After this message Bakhtyaar did not contact them. "I was shocked by this message. First they clear my dues after a year and then they ask me to dub for them at such short notice.
Why would anyone do it? Why did they mess up with the dubbing in the first place? As it is, Home Sweet Home was shot in dismal conditions with rats in the make-up room; it is better that Paritossh sticks to staging plays, rather than producing television shows."
However, co-producer Balwinder points out, "We had given adequate notice to Bakhtyaar and booked the dubbing studio on the day he mentioned he was free. Then he didn't turn up and we had to incur unnecessary expenditure by hiring a dubbing artiste to mouth his lines."
But Bakhtyaar claims no one asked him before hiring the dubbing studio. "It is only because of my sister Delnaaz's warm relations with them that I have kept quiet for so long. I don't want to say anything further about the way Paritossh shot for the show. How come he does not talk about bigger issues instead of making a big deal about not dubbing for some lines because of his own mistakes?" questions Bakhtyaar.
