As always, Bollywood is in the mood for love.

And who better for the job than Yash Raj Films? National Award-winning actor Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta star in the bright romantic comedy, Salaam Namaste.

Who in the world would like to be called Nikhil Arora? It's just 'not cool.'

So thinks this trendy, happy-go-lucky character, which is why he calls himself Nick.

Ambar Malhotra is a Radio Jockey, at the Salaam Namaste radio station.

Aha! So that's where the film's name comes from. Bet you thought salaam and namaste alluded to an inter-religion romance, didn't you?

Nick, a qualified architect, ditched Ludhiana for Melbourne because the city offered him the freedom to choose an occupation that lets him sleep as late as he wants.

He's now head chef of a famous Indian restaurant in Melbourne, living life on his own terms.

Ambar, a fiercely independent girl, ran off from Bangalore to Melbourne just to get the marriage monkey off her back.

Here, without a family suffocating her with marriage proposals, she can live her own life, her own way

But even as the showdown between the two starts, they start discovering things in common. And before they know it, Nick and Ambar fall head over heels in love

They decide to move in together. The film, however, shows them living as friends, in separate rooms, not really raising Bollywood eyebrows with a bold live-in relationship.

Salaam Namaste, by debutant writer-director Siddharth Anand, is about relationship problems. At first glance, Nick and Ambar seem perfect together. But gradually little issues begin to simmer under the surface.

Fights, arguments, frustration -- who in the world said love was easy?

What is being 'in love' really all about? The film presents a fun, honest take.

Salaam Namaste hits theatres on September 9, and promises to be interesting.
