ARSHI TWO SHOT- Its all there in heart

She still remembered the unadulterated joy on his face as he has come to know they are going to be blessed with twins,he has wanted a daughter since he came to knew about her expecting and when came the news of twins,he has been elated more than she has ever seen him.He has been on his toes since then,from getting a room made to getting everything prepared for their arrival into the world.

To say she was proud of him would be an understatement,she looked up to her husband in more than one way that mattered,she herself has wished for daughters,to give them everything she couldnt have in her childhood,to raise them as strong individuals and to see her dreams mirrored in his eyes she knew in her heart she was truly blessed.

The past 5 years have gone in a whirlwind,from seeing them opening their eyes for the first time to their first walk,to hear the first word occurred by them and feel their tiny fingers tightly holding theirs all the time.Whenever they went out Arnav made sure they held on to both of them securedly they have never left them alone nomatter how needed their presence might have been in any circumstance,always making sure that one of them was always their with them.

But was it enough?.Would they be able to do it always ?.These questions were haunting her since she has heard the news earlier this evening.It was a plesant day all along,they have taken the kids to an amusement part and seeing them enjoying they too have let go of everything becoming a small child themselves.

As they had stopped to have ice-cream she has been in the vicinity to hear the news while Arnav took their angels to select the ice cream flavour.They were living in Delhi where the crime rate and disgusting activities women seems to be never ending.The law was a bloody joke,just a name on it,the entire system corrupted from top to bottom,politicians being the second name of hypocrites who hid in dark corners when there was any need of action.Another gang rape this time in Mumbai.She knew this would never end,another candle march,debates on news channels and then everything would die down.The girl whose most prestigious virtue has been taken away by her would lay lifeless,will she ever be able to get the courage to live again incase she survived.

No,she decided.She will talk to Arnavji today,they couldnt let their angels to be exposed such sort of danger,there has to be some way out.She has excused herself not to be part of the bed time ritual and Arnav catching the look in her eyes has taken the kids upstairs and the girls the immense faith they have in their father following him obediently.

He finished reciting the story Arnav noticed the girls already asleep,normally they wont sleep until they had heard the end of the story but today he knew theywere tired to all the running and playing around they had done in the amusement park.His lips curved into a fond smile as he remembered how has he himself become a child with them.his two angels with whom he and Khushi were living their childhood again.He carefully put them both down on their pillows, tucking the blankets cosily around them,adjused the temperature of air conditioner and placed their respective soft toys around them.With a final kiss on their forehead he made his way out,he knew Khushi was standing there,they knew each other presence always,and he realised she was in some deep thoughts and knew she would tell him on her own. Reaching near her,he quietly held her hand and with a final glance at their sleeping daughters they quietly closed the door behind them.

Her sobs subsided and Arnav wiped of the last traces of tears from her face,she held his hand tightly in both of hers and told him.

"Arnavji,you were telling me about the new venture of AR that day,one you want to pursue in LONDON,it will be very beneficial for AR's position worldwide right but you were apprehensive and let go of it because that required your presence there for some good amount of years.I have no issues in shifting there Arnavji ,you,me,Amayra and Aashi we all will shift there and you can carry on with it."

Arnav was surprised and perplexed,thinking hard of what has gotten to her today,he has sense a fear in the way she has held on to him moments ago but he was not at all expecting this answer from her.Confused as he was he knew there was only one way to know the actual reason ,he put a finger beneath her chin and made her look at him.Staring into her eyes that always told the truth to him he asked tenderly.

His soft voice which has always been reserved only for her did the work as tears again spung into her eyes.He made her sit on the recliner and held her close as Khushi narrated him the entire incident about the gang rape,she could feel him tremor,the rage inside him building to kill those vultures with his own hands who did such horenous things.He listened as she told him about her fears,he could feel it inside his heart too but what Khushi was telling seems so unlike her not the strong woman he knew and respected her for.But that was not Khushi he realised it was a mother who fear for her daughters safety and security more than anything else.

He gave her time to calm down and once done,kneeling down in front of her,he held her hands in his own and asked her softly.

"You think moving out of the country is the solution to all this Khushi,you think if we move to London Aashi and Amayra will be safe there that no harm could come to them there."

Khushi tried to shrug off her hands from his strong hold but he held on tightly, she didnt needed any reasoning at this point of time,she wanted him to agree to her thats it,but he wouldnt relent so easily so she told him off barely noticing her tone.

"Yes,Arnavji,I think this is the only solution,werent you were the one who only told me how safe that country is,how strict rules are there then if I am suggesting it now why are you having a problem all off a sudden."

He could see her temper raising but she needed to see sense,any decision taken in haste would do only bad than good.

"Khushi,I know what I told you but you Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada is trying to run away,the woman who faced every fear and problem heads on,its unbelievable!!!."Arnav said.

She snatched her hands away from his hold and stood up facing him.Then taking a deep breath her eyes silently passing the message to understand her plight,she told him softly.

"Its not about you or me anymore Arnavji,why dont you get this,its about Amayra and Aashi,their safety and security and for that I am ready to go to any lengths."

"There you are Khushi,see you yourself is admitting that you can go to any length for our daughters,then why do we need to do this,do you think crimes dont exist in other countries,crime is everywhere Khushi,dont you trust me to keep our daughters safe?."Arnav retorted back at the irony of her own words.

His direct question catering to her trust in him pierced her heart,he was the best father any child could ask for,he loved Aashi and Amayra more than anything in this world.She rushed to answer him and spoke hurriedly.

"Its not about my trust in you Arnavji,Amayra and Aashi are truly blessed to have you as their father but why dont you get it,we cant be with them all the time,what if we are not there tomorrow and something."Her words died in between as finally she voiced out her fear to him aloud,that would be the end of her if something bad happened to their daughters.

He saw her resolve break,this time he didn't rushed to comfort her,she needed to see the truth on her own today and thus this time he kept out the softness that always claimed his tone whenever he talked to her.

"Khushi ,werent you the one who taught me that in fear of tomorrow we should never let living today,who knows what destiny holds for us and today you are letting your own fear overrule urself,and why because some beasts do such disgusting acts,If I could have it then I would kill them with my own bare hands but I cant."

As he noticed the cloud of fear slightly fading from her eyes he continued to speak.

"You know I cant say no to you if you want we will shift to London permanently but as you said its not about me or you anymore, its about Aashi and Amayra,do you want them to grow up as someone who fears even taking a step out.You yourself has been an independent woman Khushi,you managed on your own, the thing which drew me to you at first ,your never ending fighting spirit and today you are giving up just like that."

You remember the answer I gave to those ladies who has come to Aashi's and Amayra's naming ceremony,when those low thinking people has commented about us havng two daughters and no son.As he asked her,it was like the words loud and clear in her head as if that has happened moments ago.

"Its only there in the thinking and only because of people like you that such thinking exists still in our society,who are you to say anything about my daughters."He has looked at them with disgust and said aloud so that everyone can hear.

"I can't believe you yourself being a woman can think like that,its a girl who brings a life on this planet and to see the way they are still treated second handedly its a shame.For me Aashi and Amayra are my pride.I am blessed with two daughters and they would grow up to be beautiful woman tomorrow inside out."

The snarl remark of another woman companion of that group was when they have tried to show them off with their questions about who is going to handle his company and who will look after them in their old age.Arnav has again shut them off this time with hurling their own words at them.

"Oh ya what did you said,who will handle my industries so for your kind information who told you only guys can handle business well,my daughters are going to reign over AR once I retire and yaa old age if I am not forgetting you are the only whose son took over all your business and now gives you barely monthly allowance for your maintainance,get out of your thinking for once and see the truth for yourself and even if you dont then stay away from our family, i don't want any such people around my daughters."

After his answer no one has even dared to contradict him,those ladies have quietly left knowing somewhere down how wrong they have been and as his words again reviberated through her heart,it finally sunked in deeply that what he was trying to imply since beginning.

Seeing the haze getting clear Arnav reached out to her and know spoke lovingly.

"Khushi ,we cant change the world but we can do what we can do the best,we will raise Aashi and Amayra to be stronger,you are correct we cant be everywhere with them,but we will make them sufficient enough so that they can take care of their own when we are not around,to be cautious,to know the difference between right or wrong.They will walk the world with their head held high right Khushi?."

She nodded earnestly part angry at herself for being so foolish moments ago but now when she saw the bigger picture with his vision she knew she will not have it in any other way too.They cant change the world,such monsters in name of humans existed everywhere but Aashi and Amayra will not be demeaned in any form just because they were girls.

Finally feeling the load lifted off her heart,she held his hand and started to move out of the room,when he asked what she causally shrugged and replied.

"What,I missed the time of the night ritual Arnavji so lets sleep with them tonight."

He just smirked in response seeing his crazy wife back in action and they went together watching them asleep oblivious of everything,their little angels,so innocent oblivious of every wrong and ugliness that existed in this world.Entwining their hands above their heads,they lay across either of them falling sleep with the promise to nourish,raise and protect them from everything.

This is the result of me being numb since I have heard about the Mumbai Gang Rape incident.Being from Delhi where such incidents happens at the drop of a hat it always makes me feel so hollow that I cant do anything about it.We live in a world full of vultures and beasts in name of humans. There are times like these when I feel why I am even living.But the only thing we can do is to raise the future generation to be better,to treat girls as equals in every possible way not just in theory but in real sense and be strong enough to face this disgusting world.
