Those screams, the knife, blood, tears and all those bad things returned. My breath was increasing like anything. For a moment it felt like I was choking up badly. And in no time I was hyperventilating. My legs were getting numb from running continuously and my lungs were burning because of the excess oxygen intake, I was still running out of breath. I had to reach her before something bad happens. It felt like nothing was moving in spite of me running so much to save her. I finally reached her. Suddenly she screamed and then everything went silent. It felt like everything got frozen in time. Nothing moving nothing feeling. Everything went numb. At that moment the last sight I had was her face filled with tears and stains of blood.
I suddenly gasped for air which bought me out of the trance of sleep. I woke up startled from sleep realizing that Zoya was missing. She was no where around.
"Zoya. .. ." I called out loudly. I checked my room but she was no where. I hurriedly ran towards bathroom but she wasn't there either. Where could she possibly go?
I walked out towards hall but she was not there either. Now this was really a panicking moment for me. First that dream and now I couldn't find my Zoya.
Ammi walked out of her room asking me the reason for my worry.
"Ammi I cant find Zoya". I said her.
"What? Asad how can you be so careless? Search everywhere she must be here somewhere". She replied worryingly.
If this time it is Tanvir's some stupid trick then I'm going to push her in hell with my own hands. Zoya was the only one left after that incident. She was the only beautiful memory I had.
I searched every corner of the house but she was nowhere to be seen.
I hurriedly ran out of the house and there she was playing in the backyard in sand with her sand castle.
I sighed with a relief.
"Zoya. . . You should not go away like this on your own without saying daddy." I warned her. I walked towards her and slowly picked her up in my arms. She giggle and shook her hands trying to shrug off sand.
"Ugh! Naughty girl." I teased her with a smile.
I took her inside and handed her to Ammi to clean and change her clothes.
I sat on sofa waiting for the servant to bring me coffee.
I took a sip from the mug only to be reminded about her. It had the milk and was sweet.
A tear rolled down from my eyes. She was no more with me but only her memories and our daughter was.
The most heartbreaking thing was that I couldn't save my Zoya from Razia's hands when she came to know that Siddiqui was her father. Our daughter was the only one left with me always reminding me about her.
I looked down on my chest, my jacket was all covered in sand.
A short chuckle left from my mouth. I picked up the frame from the side table which held her picture.
"Our daughter is messy just like you Zoya. See she spoiled my jacket just like you always spoiled my sofa." I quietly said with teary eyes.
I felt a small hand on my knees. My daughter was here. I named her Zoya because she was more like her in her habits. I gently picked her up in my arms and placed her on my lap. She took my coffee cup and took a sip from it making sounds. She was liking it. She really was like her.
"Abu. . . Yumm." she said wiping the dripping coffee from her mouth. She wiped her coffee hands on my jacket spoiling it more. This made me chuckle harder. This time instead of shouting like I used to do on her I gave a small kiss on my daughter's cheek.
"Sir what would you like to eat for dinner?" servant asked handing the menu card to me.
"Make kebabs and rice." I ordered.
"Abu. . . Peeah . . ..[Pizza]" Zoya said with her cute lisps. She was so much like my typical Zoya. It bought tears in my tears. Why? Why I couldn't save her?
Her every action reminded me about my beautiful wife Zoya who was no more with me but her most beautiful gift will always be with me forever till the day I die.
Ok guys how was it? Hope you all like it. . . .
