I could not think of a title for this post and thought Do Dil Ek Jaan is sufficient to put my point across. I am so so impressed with this show. Just the story itself is so intriguing that nothing really seems to bothers me about this show. I know some find Raghu to be too rude or they find certain tracks to be a drag, but honestly for me its the overall package that really makes the difference. Of course, we all have different expectations from shows and it doesn't necessarily mean that we all have to come to the same conclusion. I just want to put out my perspective and by no means is it to change anyone's POV, but just to give another aspect as to how I perceive this show.

We watch one episode everyday, which is just a very small chunk of the story. If you all have noticed the writers are doing such a great job with linking those pieces together. Each character in this show has a purpose. There are so many mysteries revolving around the characters, which are yet to be resolved. They have built each character so well and you can see those layers. In yesterday's episode, I think Raghu's continuous rant about the ghungroos was not just out of the blue. There is more to than meets the eye. There is something that is bothering him within and he keeps repeating himself, while accusing Antara. He cant bear the noise of the ghunrgoos and am sure its related to his past. Every time he would hear the sound of her ghungroos his behavior towards Antara would instantly change. For a minute, I was about to diagnose him with Bipolar Disorder. Leaving aside my pathetic joke, I really do think Raghu is a complex character and there are times when he takes you by surprise

Everyone expected that in the maha-episode Raghu would change and turn into a passionate lover. No, that cant happen. The guy's name is RAGHU. He is not some random, naive, momma's boy out on the streets of Mumbai, who was just waiting for some girl to come and give long lectures about life and turn him into a noble man. For twenty odd years, this guy has lived in an atmosphere where you have to become a thug to have it your way. Living in a society where you cannot do anything without money nor bribery... he has become who he is today. He is crude, blunt, rude and a fighter, but that's because that is how life treated him. This is his way of surviving. Remember life was his teacher and that is all he knows. What he said about her father was definitely out of line, but that is not unexpected of Raghu. Of course the intentions were not to hurt Antara. You can already see the transformation in Raghu as he does care for Antara. Several times I see the urge of Raghu wanting to jerk her and say "look life is cruel - your father's teaching mean nothing in this society." He said something along these lines to Ishaan as well. He knows they are innocent and sees the young Raghu in Antara. Unfortunately what he wanted to say.. is not exactly how it came out... but look beyond those words. I can guarantee you the harsh words he has said to Antara will be a turning point for her and definitely for Raghu. As i mentioned earlier, Raghu has built a wall around him and you can see how uneasy he feels when Antara tries to go through that thick wall. Just give Raghu some time. He is changing and he will regret what he said to Antara. Dargah will also mark a new begining as the equation between these two will change. Just have some patience. Raghu and Antara are Do Dil Ek Jaan... to reach to that madness it will take time lol
Now coming to the new entries. I think all of us should really welcome these entries as they are part of Raghu & Antara story. They will only build their relationship stronger. People dont like the fact that a terrorist is entering. Well why not? Without this guy, their story would be incomplete. Antara's father died in a terrorist attack and I am sure there will be a strong connection here. Be thankful you dont have random entries that make no sense. These kirdaars actually have a significant role to play and technically they are already part of the story from the begining. I cant go without mentioning my enthusiasm to see Daiya Maiye and how she will play a role in RA's life.
I really dont want to jinx this show now after praising it so much 😆 but honestly speaking beside the few technocal glitches and dragging tracks...this show really hits you and especially for some of us who actually watch the show for the story. I know some like to watch RA scenes and move on, but really the entire episodes are worth watching. It actually makes you understand Rantara even better and get an idea of their background. I will be the first to admit that I could not wait for the dance competition track to be over, but now as I look back each scene leads to the next. Some days you will like episodes and some days you won't, but man I cant take away from the entire product. Just give creatives their space. I think fan pressures makes the shows go down hill... let the writers do what they have in mind. Be constructive.. dont be DESTRUCTIVE 😆
Ok I think I am done now...Cant believe I wrote so much =))

Hey Gagan!Amazing post. I second with every word of yours.

The Ghungroo thing. I so agree.
And I made a similar comment in the afternoon on someone's post.
I quote, " I guess the ghungroos irritate him so much maybe because his own mother was involved in some dance thing to sustain their lives."

As a writer, I am impressed with how spot on you were with the characterisation. 😊

I too am tired of reading about people wanting Raghu and Antara together. The thing is in some sense they already are. Raghu is who he is, as you said his life made him the way he is. Even when he speaks so abruptly and rudely the caring is there, you only have to listen to his words - not the delivery. Actually the delivery is because he doesn't know the softer side of emotions - yet.

Anyway, thought I'd pop in to say this. I too watch the whole story, and so far the plot, motivation and characterisation is true. It drives me crazy when writers veer off that - if they showed them falling in love now, I would switch off. These two need to know one another, develop and nuture their feelings until it's an unbreakable bond.

Despite his gruff and rude words, he cares (this is for everyone). When she got up to help him find the road he said 'are you a map?' or somethng like that. Reason, he wants her to sit down and rest her leg. Also he is often teasing her...his words about her managing the whole world, this shows he has been observing her and likes what he see's. So guys, listen to his WORDS.

Like you I too am waiting for the new characters, will add a richness to the story and off course move their relationship forward because they cannot then hide from their feelings for one another. A new element always brings to fore what was hidden.

Also I agree about the anklets, something about them really bothers him and I wish Antara would pick up on it and ask him questions. And once again yes, he is in his own way is trying to get her to see the world as it is rather than through her idealistic father's eyes.

I'll keep an eye out for more of your posts, hope they are a treat as this one has been.😊

Everything's said n done but this-

"There is something that is bothering him within and he keeps repeating himself, while accusing Antara. He cant bear the noise of the ghunrgoos and am sure its related to his past. Every time he would hear the sound of her ghungroos his behavior towards Antara would instantly change."

Thanks so for mentioning it.. All the while I had a strong feeling that may be just may be he gets irritated by this goongroo coz of some other reason not coz it reminds him how irresponsible Antara is.But lol no one talked about it n I thought, I was over thinking but glad to know I wasn't..

Anyway,nothing to add,You have said everything ..

I agree with u Gagan, I am not someone who devotes a lot of time to any show, unless the storyline is gripping and the characters are well sketched out. In the last 5 years, this is probably the 2nd show that I watch every day and look forward to watching every day. Raghu cannot change overnight, he is crude and raw, while Antara is more polite and refined, , he is the yang to Antaras ying. He's a rude gangster who has no time for the niceties of life and I am thrilled that the Cvs have kept that intact instead of making him change overnight into this mushy Manju of sorts because some pretty girl batted her eyelids at him.
I am really happy with how the show is going and while I would love to see Raghu and Antara romancing, I am pleasantly surprised that we are first going to see their friendship, instead of them romancing right on, again this story is different. I also have to mention, the supporting characters are really strong here, its not like they are fillers for the main but contribute equally to the story.

There will be glitches as it happens with most shows but its a real credit that a show with no major stars or much advertising has made its way into our hearts so quickly.

I was awaiting your PhD wala analysis.😆

gagan i really like to read ur posts they are so meaningfull
totally agreed with ur each and every point. u know why i like do dil ek jaan so much, cause of it's story line. to me,if the story line doesn't appeals even the most good looking and hottest couple can make me to stick the show...and ddej's story line is so unique and beautifful in it's own way. it is not a fairy tale...but a real life tale with the touch of a fairy taale...u can say a real life fairy tale..thts our ddej is.
true to say i never expected raghu to change all of a sudden after the ME.for this two months we are watching him on screen and a lil i understand about his charecter that he is not that kind of guy who just fell for a girl all of a sudden.not even antara is that kind of girl. and thats the part which attrckt me most... both raghu and antara are gradually discovering the layers and shades of each others charecter. and thats the touch of reality in this beautiful heart touching tale.
true to say not just rantara i enjoyed each and every charecter of this storry who revoloves arround rantara. yeah rantara is always the focus for me but besides i also enjoy other charecters who are involved..
and from the very first day i presumed that a terrorist track may come in the story. how can we forget that the show started with the scene of blast which took away antara's father. so this track has to come someday.just have to see how cvs planned to explore this track in our rantara's story.,...and i am sure this time they are again going to surprise us.
and about the jungle track, it's true that sso many people expected raghu to change in passionate lover...they didn't get that. but what we get just let me aww...how beautiful, deep and heart touching rantara scenes we get. i just saw how raghu although being rude was so caring about antara's comfort. how he desperately wwanted to communicate with her...thats all indiocating the slow breaking process of the wall arround him...
and that candle scene...left me all amused.never say it before but didn't ever saw or imagined such a devine scene in any other indian telly serial before...that scene was so heat warming.
last but not the least, keep rocking ddej...keep making us surprised with ur each and every new eps..
