Abhi's Drona an answer to 'Krrish'.. - Page 2

Chill out bachchans!! ❤️ ❤️Hrithik❤️❤️ was, is, and will always be India's very first superhero. but still, i wanna see if abhi can pull it off as a superhero.

erm. I wish abhishek all the best for his Drona. hopefully its a great movie.

But hrithik is hrithik. Noone can tk his place.

The Bachchans seem to be out to get everybody, pehla bechara SRK who still hasn't said a word against them, and now Hrithik who probably doesn't even give 2 hoots for what the Bachchans do!

Albeit Hrithik is the best dancer,his dance hasnt saved some of his worst flops!!...Ash is the best dancer,and she has the most number of flops compared to PZ or Rani,who are no match to her in dance!Abhishek definitely danced well in Bluffmaster..Abhi can never come close to Hrithik,but he isnt that deplorable either!

How does a name matter...Yuva was the movie than changed Abhi's life,and he was a "Lallan " in the film,definitely not a common or stylish name!!...

As far as acting is concerned,IMO,Hrithik is a tad overrated...His only two brilliant performances were KMG and Fiza,he was "good" ONLY in Krrish,Dhoom 2,Lakshya..Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was average!...There are other actors who have given performances which are as good as Hrithik's act in Lakshya and Dhoom 2(strictly speaking about acting),but they go unnoticed thanks to zilch hype and zero star value...Kay Kay Menon,Ranvir Shorey,Akshaye Khanna,Shreyas Talpade etc...But most of their performances goes unnoticed...Abhishek IMO,is at par with Hrithik,if not better....Guru,Yuva and Sarkarr were brilliant works...KANK,Phir Milenge,Bunty aur Babli were "GOOD"..Bluffmaster,Dhoom 1,Dus etc were average...

Good looks is a curse in Bollywood sometimes. People think you need to be average looking to be a good actor.

Its not that all good lookers are stereotyped..Its just that B-wood has seen many not so great looking people act wonderfully,that looks isnt the top priority anymore!Atleast not conventional looks!

Mission Kashmir would come under the "good" category..I wouldnt call Krrish and Dhoom 2 masterpeice acting...Krrish was more about superhero antics,and Dhoom was more a showreel to showcase a hunk,a dancing phenemenon,and an action hero...Whatever little acting Krrish and Dhoom 2 had,were certainly not superior to Saif's act in Omkara and Parineeta,but yet Hrithik would win awards galore,and Saif would at the most win a nomination or an award in a category which is less prestigious than the "Best Actor" category!...SRK's another example,devdas and Veer Zaara werent any masterpeices,still he sweeped all the awards...Actors like Saif,Ajay and Akshaye Khanna lose out to Hrithik and SRK,as their star value isnt really high!...Saif,albeit being a phenomenal actor,cant give hits outside Yashraj/Dharma,and Ajay's last hit was way back in 2002

Buffie I too don't knw what Drona is about.....ASSUMING tht it is a superhero flick then I can guarantee tht Abhi is gonna fail coz he doesn't LOOK like a superhero 😆 . If Drona is along the lines of MR INdia then yes, it could be a success but then it's Goldie Behl who's the director NOT Shekhar Kapur! Mr India worked not coz of the special effects but more so coz of its treatment frm the director....and I supose Goldie's skills as a director was there for all to see with BAs Itna sa Khwaab Hai.

As for Hrithik being overrated...I beg to differ! Hrithik has given brilliant performances in the last couple of yrs....He was superb in Lakshya---in fact, Big B even went on to call hrithik a 'legend' after Lakshya. KMG, Fiza, MK all showcased Hrithik's skills as an actor....so how the hell is he overrated! As for D-2: I knw it's not a movie where u showcase ur acting skills but it's not easy to act 'cool' and not look lik a wannabe at the same time!

Ppl say Krrish was only about stunts....well if it was only abt doing stunts then even Akshay Kumar could've pulled off tht role! He looked convincing as a superhero and thts an achievement esp since the concept of superhero flicks is mocked at in India.

I agree Abhi was good in Yuva and Guru but what was so gr8 abt him in Sarkar and Dus? IMO it was KK Menon who was brilliant in Sarkar....as for Dus---the only thing tht I even rem of tht movie was the dus bahane song!

agree buffie....of all the the actors I'd say Saif is easily the most versatile....and what I like abt saif is tht he doesnt makea a big deal outta his versitality like Aamir does! He does it all so effortlessly.

Yep, big B did say Hrithik would go on to bcome a 'legend' after working with him in LAkshya and thts genuine praise coz hrithik is NOT his son!

As for RDB....it had aamir...I'm sure he did some ghost directing! 😉

My POV is:

Acting

1) Facial Expressions:
Hrithik beats Abhi here. Hrithik's face is very expressive, every minute emotions gets reflected.
Be it anger, various forms of love, irritation, frustration, pining, sad elation, mental states etc. He used to over do earlier, but today as he is maturing he is becoming more natural and underplays. Hrithiks worst is in MPKDH.

Abhi is only good at rough, anger stuf. He frowns a tad too much hich makes many expressions confusing. Best in Yuva, Guru.

2) Use of Eyes:
Hrithik has expressive eyes. Watch out the russian roullette scene in Dhoom 2. Use of eyes here or in the mime scene at the carnival. Or in KMG when he ask priety $B%H(Bm i not a man?"in the second half. The expression here was complex and priceless. That Abhi's eyes are intense hence effective in Yuva, Guru, but can he portray the softer emotions.

3) Body language
Hrithik is leagues ahead out here. Check out KMG.

4) Voice Modulation:
Hrithik is again leagues ahead.. watch KMG and the garbled delivery and also in Dhoom 2 where he is very effective as macho and his effective pauses in Dhoom 2. Though he has to work more on his pronunciation.

5) Voice timber:
Abhi has a better voice qulaity in the timbre section.
But in the softer emotions I am yet to see him deliver.

6) Dance:
Hrithik is miles ahead in perfecting a step, his dance is fluid, graceful. Is a natural dancer. Abhi's is more of Hip Hop, style and camera angles.

7) Grace:
Hrithik has natural grace henc ehis stunts look like poetry and well chorepgraphed. Check out his postures.

8) Screen Presence:
Hrithik again is very presentable, and makeup can do wonders when one has expressive eyes. He has an oval face so any style would suit him. Abhi too is OK here, but then I think Hrithik has better screen presence as of now. Abhi is fast getting better with more confidence.

9) Comic timing:

Abhi leads here, but with practice Hrithik may also shine who knows.

10) Roles:
Abhishek uptil now is effective in intense roles and has a definitive flair for some comedy. Mani used his intensity effectively.

Hrithik will have a greater range when he is directed well and works under brilliant directors like ManiRatnam, SLB, Ashutosh etc etc with good scripts. Till now he has only worked under mediocre directors who do not utilise his potential fully. However Khalid , Frahan did exploit him somewhat. But have not even strached the tip. The layers has to be scaled further.

11) Finally, many can be actors but few can be Stars. Not everyone has STAR potential.

Thats the reason why actors like Naseerudin regard Hrithik very highly, and as some says even Amitabh mentioned how Hrithik would be a legend one day. And even National Award winner Mithun regards Hrithik highly.

Has it never occured to you that Abhi's two of three best performances are with Mani Ratnam, a man who can even make poles act? Abhi's work in Yuva was good, not marvelous - Madhavan was miles better as Inba in the Tamil version of Yuva but since Madhavan is no Bachchan, his performance went unnoticed while Abhi's was hyped so much.
