Dolly Sohi, who's back from Canada, is glad that Mannish Goyal is no
more part of her serial
RESHMA S KULKARNI
She's back, Canadian accent in place et al! Dolly Sohi, better
known as Saroj from Star Plus' Bhabhi, who had declared that she'd
hung up her boots after she got married to a businessman from
Canada, is back on the scene after a year-long hiatus. "It was more
of a vacation really! All I did in the past one year was to eat,
sleep to my heart's content and roam around Canada," reminisces
Dolly even as she adds, "But it feels good to be back. I was missing
all this hustle-bustle of shooting."
When asked if that was what prompted her to make a comeback,
Dolly says, "I was certainly missing the frenzy and more than that,
when I used to read the messages posted by fans on the internet
sites saying that they wanted the original Saroj back, it would tug
at my heart. Then I got pregnant and suffered from a miscarriage,
which put me in depression. That was when my husband suggested that
I should consider going back to work." reveals Dolly, who says that
she was overwhelmed with the reception she got. "I do miss my old
cast members who have now
been replaced but it's fun to be working with this unit too" says
Dolly.
One cannot help but ask her whether she is missing her 'good
friend' Mannish Goyal, now that he too is no longer a part of the
programme. "You bet I am" Dolly remarks tongue-firmlyin-cheek, even
as she bursts out laughing, "It's such a relief that Mannish is not
around. Misunderstandings happen between many costars and I was
prepared for that. But if a person does not have the maturity to
deal with those misunderstandings in a dignified manner such as
Mannish did, it spoils my peace of mind completely and puts me off
that person for life! Can you imagine, Mannish has not stopped
talking about our fracas till date? I recently read an article where
he said that I wanted to sabotage his career! But I believe in
letting bygones be bygones. In fact, I don't think Mannish Goyal
warrants so much importance. As of now, I'm happy being back and all
I'm looking forward to, is being accepted by my audience once more,
which I'm sure will happen."
