I finally saw the movie and to be honest, it was good movie but not worth all that hype......I can't believe some reporters claim tht this is Mani Ratnam's best coz it's in no way close to Nayakan ( I finally saw Nayakan too...but in tamil)

I agree to some extent..Barring the performances, the film per se wasnt as great as Nayangan or any of Mani's other gems..But dont you think, compared to other hindi films,Guru was good..I mean, films like KANK,Dhoom 2, Don, Krrish,Fanaa etc...This was one of the better hindi films....But yes, nothing compared to Nayagan

Ash was my favorite in the movie 👏 👏 .....I really LOVED her.....her eyes spoke volumes and even when she didn't have a line to say in a scene I could FEEL the strength she was lending to Guru.....I'm glad she wasn't reduced just for the romantic track! liked Ash mroe than Abhi in the movie to be honest....Abhi had all the liens and make-up to back him up, but Ash had to make an impact with mere screen presence and she did tht beautifully...

I personally felt Ash was superb in Solo scenes...Like the one at the station where she reads the letter...Her expressions were great!!👏...

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG,FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY someone agrees with me....I thought I was the only one who felt there was no great chemistry😆

True,Abhi-Ash chemistry wasnt the best even in a Mani Ratnam film....Ahem,if they couldnt be convincing as a couple in a Mani film, then its unlikely they'd scorch in Sarkarr 2 or Raaste or Karan Johar's assistant's film....😆....They need to do movies with co-stars whom they share good vibes with,Ash with Hrithik,Abhi with Rani and Priyanka...

Buffie I wouldn't compare Guru with KANK or Krrish or fanaa coz they r all different genres of films....

KANK and Fanaa were (apparently) love stories.....Krrish was a superhero flick....d-2 was an action/romantic masala movie--- it's meant for pure entertainment not to show any gr8 acting.

Guru on the other hand is about a MAN's entire life---it's a biopic and thts why I compared it to Nayakan---coz nayakan is also a biopic.....why compare Fanaa with Guru when the genres and styles of the films is different!

the reason why I said it's not worth the hype coz Big B is making it out to be like his son is the best actor of all time---i thght if big b is praising him he might be good but I have to say it's NOT AT ALL worth the hype.....and defintely not Mani Ratnam;s best movies----he's made better ones, like Anjali, Bombay, Nayagan, Iruvar, Kanathil Muthamittal

Nayagan is Mani's best because Nayagan has one of the greatest actors India has seen---Kamal Hasan. To the protagonist of Nayagan, U can relate more coz he is a common man who bent low to their level to help them.
Guru is completely different. He is a bullish businessman and Abhishek has proved he does have the calibre to be one of the best of Bollywood's current actors(If not...the best 😉 )
I think it is baseless comparing Guru n Nayagan just because more are socially relevant and directed by Mani.
Anyways..I havent seen such a great film very frequently for the last many years.... 😊
Maybe its the fad and it will die out soon...But now for one...This is the only film I felt was worth the hype...

😊hey yaar...Big B said his son was phenominal...and he truly was and there is no denying that...all he said was that...He gelt his son was better that him. N remember he calls himself a very average actor.😊
