This is one show that has quite a few reality TV junkies hooked. Keeping up with its uniqueness of concept, Fame Gurukul is all set to feature a live concert called 'Aasman ke paar' which promises to be a treat for the audiences.
This is also the first time that the contestants will perform live on stage. Adding star value to the show will be Bollywood 'item girl' Rakhee Sawant apart from TV actors Shakti Anand and Svetta Keswani. Amit Sana will also be singing the song 'Chal Diye' from his latest album.
Rakhee is quite excited to be performing for the small screen and says, "I am very happy to be here. I am going to be dancing to four numbers of which Pardesiya and Haadsa are my own songs and another one is a Beyonce song. I am basically a dancer and derive maximum contentment from performing, it really dosen't matter where."
Upon being asked if she has seen the show she says, "Of course I have. I don't have much time but I have seen a few episodes of It. I think it is a great show and is doing very well." She also has something to say about her co-performers, the contestants, "Well, it does not feel like they are newcomers. In fact they are already stars on television. Soon they will also become old for the industry."
For Svetta Keswani, it is an aberration from the routine things she usually does. She is obviously elated and quips, "I am doing a neo- classical performance and it will be fantastic. I will be performing on songs like In Aankhon Ki Masti Ke and Karunesh's Punjab. I am a trained Kathak dancer so I am very happy to be doing it. Plus, it is done in a very sophisticated way and for once it is not a chhamiya type of performance." She has not interacted too much with the contestants but says that they are a very hardworking lot. She adds, "They seem very upbeat and active. Probably I am more nervous than they are."
The Fame Gurukul girls will be seen singing and performing sensuous songs, with Rooprekha's selection of songs including Kaisi Paheli and Awara Bhawere and Arpita's picks being Loot Gaye and Baras Ja.
While the girls are doing solo performances on these sensuous songs, the boys are putting together some foot tapping group performances on Kero Mama from their album and Shavva Shavva. A must watch is the performance on the song Pretty Woman by Rex D'souza and a performance by the popular Qazi Touqeer on the Disco number Janaabe Ali. Arpita and Shamit will also sing a romantic duet for the audiences, which is sure to tug at the heartstrings.
This special episode will be hosted by Sudhanshu Pandey and Gurdip Kohli and is scheduled to air tonight at 8 pm on Sony.
