I have wanted to watch period dramas but, I can't stand them for too long.

Help this beginner to historic dramas out?

Like a transition maybe?

I have watched the ones where there's a bit of modern element like the Faith or Dr. Jin or Rooftop Prince or Queen In Hyun or the one with Kim Nana from City Hunter called (something) scandal.

I watch to watch The Petal and The Blade but it sounds intense.

Help with some easy on the eyes dramas please?

Have you watched Gu Family Book? I really loved it! For me it is the best K period drama, I amy be disappointed with the ending, but it gave hopes for Season 2. Hmm..I really tried to watch The Petal and The Blade, I really did but I stopped watching it after the 2nd episode, it was just not my cup of tea..When I saw the promos it looked really great! But, it didn't manage to capture my attention that I could keep coming back to it...Maybe I will try to watch it after a few months...

Have u started watching Two Weeks?! I am really loving that so far, and it will probably go into my best shows K list soon! I love the lead!! I missed him so much, and I think I last saw Lee Joong Gi in one of my favorites which is Time Between Dog and Wolf....I didn't watch Arang and Magistrate of his, but I have heard it is a really good show..

I don't know any other period dramas with a bit of modern element other than the ones you mentioned...

^at first, I was confused because all these dramas aren't period dramas except for gu family book. then I realized you had changed the topic😆
want to watch two weeks but it looks meh so far. maybe later.
haven't heard of the other two but I am about to check out the promos.

btw I have heard good things about the moon embraces the sun. have you watched it? is it a good one for a historic beginner like moi?

Haha..sorry about that for confusing u...😆

OMG!! You MUST watch The Moon Embraces The Sun!!!! A MUST WATCH!! Gosh, how could I totally forget about that one!! It definitely is worth a try! I really loved it and watched it twice already, but just a warning there were a lot of people who died in this show!! Not even funny!😆..Don't worry it's a happy ending though...😃..But yes if u haven't watched this, u should!! I really liked it!

Lemme help you out lol I used to be just like you...really not into the saeguk (historical/period) dramas either until I started watching them and I've loved them since...there's some VERY well done dramas out there, you just have to get yourself into the mood...I am NOT going to include fusion saeguks (like time travel and such cause they're not really true period dramas IMO)

The Legend - one of my FAV historical/period drama with elements of fantasy/mythical stuff in it, a great one to start with...it's not super heavy on the history because so much of it has to do with mythical stuff

Dong Yi - .Dong Yi is based on real korean history about the king who falls in love with a water maid...i really enjoyed it, it's a bit long but a good pace...and I'm a Han Hyo Joo fan so really watched it for her lol

Jang Ok Jung, Lives in Love - okay so another one that's history based on true events but has been altered for the show and it's VERY interesting...I think you might like it, I enjoyed it

Hong Gil Dong - kind of a korean historical Robin Hood is how I would describe this one...lots of fun and good story, if you're not into any of the above, I'd check this one out..

Here's a list of some other ones you should check out that I've liked and aren't too historically heavy: Painter in the Wind, Damo (with Ha Ji Won!), Yi San, Iljimae, Jewel in the Palace (one of the highest rated korean drama of all time)...a lot of people really enjoyed Moon Embraces the Sun but I wasn't a fan, it's worth checking out though, you may like it!
