They told Jagya that the baby's ceremony is on the 16th. He said sorry I wont be able to attend, I am going to Mangalore on the 16th to get ganga admitted in college. All of them tried to convince him but he refused saying that the naming ceremony was generally a ceremony for women anyway, and not for men, so his not being there would not be a big deal.

Sumitra got upset and called saanchi and told her that Jagya refuses to stay for the naming ceremony. So saanchi got the brilliant idea that if the engagement too were fixed on the 16th, then he would not be able to be to go to Mangalore. i.e. he can miss someone else's baby ceremony but not his own engagement ceremony. He will HAVE to be present on the 16th then. She then went and bribed the pandit to fix the date for the 16th, even though he was against it from an astrological perspective. 😆 He happily obliged for two thousand rs.

So saanchi has fixed the date behind the scenes. The date has not yet been communicated to either the shekhars or to jagya himself.
