There was a big confusion here in Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies (Where Brian Lara is from btw in case no one knows where Trinidad is)

They declared tomorrow the 9th August as the Eid holiday however some are saying today the 8th is Eid as the moon was sighted last night. there are mixed views since some are saying they didn't sight the moon.

I am not Muslim,
But can anyone clarify which is correct???

It is really very confusing because some countries actually wait for physical sightings of the moon to celebrate eid whereas some countries follow the tech savvy way since some times physical sightings are not possible in many parts of the world with naked eye...some countries also follow the day end od ramadan if the moon is sighted in saudi arabia...its really confusing so I still don't know when was eid in USA I live on the east coast and I surely didn't see the moon in the sky tonight..as per my information my friends in India will celebrate eid from 8aug till 9August night that means now it is 9 August morning in India .hope it helps
