Sumitra can no longer go in a roundabout way to handle things because Ganga is no longer accessible (in haveli) to her so she can bully her and control her. The bull has left the barn! Sumitra is no longer feeling in control hence her outburst. The revelation that her son was not transparent with her and went behind her back to help someone, not only pricked her ego but also was a metaphorical slap of sorts. It's obvious to US that this outburst will FURTHER lead to Jagya mentally distancing him self from her but I don't think she thought about it. The shock of seeing Ganga there, just when she was starting to relax and feel complacent made her lose her cool in front of everyone.

I agree with one thing Annika (skepblun) said. Sumi has been a doting mum, but to Anandi mostly. Now that Anandi is not there, Jagya has become her 'project'.

About the point on respecting parents at all times just because they are parents...I agree with Kools on this. Just yesterday I read how a 10 year old had to call 911 on his dad because the dad was driving under the influence and he feared for his life. Guess what! They actually did meet with an accident when they collided with a SUV. Now obviously circumstances determine when to go against parents, but how long does one 'let things go' before it goes too far? Also shouldn't respect be earned? Being a parent does give one respect by default, but not for ethical considerations, or it shouldn't.

I want to ask how you feel about jagya arranging for ganga to work at another hospital after graduation -- after all he has a lot of contacts -his own as well as anandi's and shiv's too.

Would you still think it is necessary to bring her back to Jaitser to work in the Dharamveer smriti hospital? Could he not be a mentor and assist her in finding a job somewhere else?
