First of all, EID MUBARAK to all my dear friends who are celebrating it.

I hope you all had wonderful day and bless you all with prosperity and happiness in joy. I sincerely bow to you all who observed fasting for the holy month. You guys just amazes me how you do that.

Alright, lets with our story now!

Its 6AM. The alarm kept ringing louder and louder. Arnav still had his eyes closed but frowned at the disturbing alarm. And his hand wandered in the empty space searching for the table clock. In attempt to reach the clock, he moved towards the edge and fell on the ground.

OOOuch! He cried in pain and tried opening his eyes and floundered clumsily in confusion. Thats when he realized he slept on the chaise. It was almost quarter past 5 when he drifted off to deep slumber from Khushi's thoughts.

He turned off the alarm and stood up rubbing his eyes. And the first thing he noticed while stretching his arms and opening his eyes widely is the Khushi's room. The white sheer curtains are still down and he couldnt figure out if she is up or not. Never in his life he looked at that room like the way he is boring at it today. Huh!!! Love changes every being even if that person happens to be the great ASR!

He grabbed his towel and walked to his bathroom in long strides.

Wearing his tie, he looked again through the glass windows and noticed that the curtains are still down. He tied his shoes, grabbed his laptop and rushed out of his bedroom.

Babua, breakfast is ready. Thoda khayiye! Stated Kaka while Arnav was on his way out.

Abhi nahi Kaka, I am getting late.

But you didnt eat anything since last night. Thoda khayiye, please.

I will grab something on my way, dont worry.

Kaka was shocked to hear Arnav's tone. He never spoke so calmly upon forcing something onto him. He was glad that he is already seeing better Arnav.

While Arnav was about to exit, he turned around and asked, Did Khushi leave?

No. She hasn't come out of her room yet.

Achaan? He asked worriedly. He proceeded his steps to her bedroom and opened the door to check if she is okay.

He noticed her sleeping in her chair. He walked slowly without making noise and he noticed her head resting on the Mittals file and her fingers lazily gripping the pen.

He touched her forehead to check on her temperature. She is cold. He mentally noted. He then touched her arms and felt goosebumps on her skin. He grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around her. He turned down the A/C in the room immediately.

He then bent down and carefully tried to take the pen away from her hand. Feeling the warm touch on her palm, she involuntarily gripped his fingers and grabbed his hand in a flash and tucked it in the crook of her neck and chin.

He stumbled on his feet and almost tripped on her but thanks to the chair he held on tightly, he was able to balance himself. He then kneeled down admiring her angelic face. He loved where his hand is, closer to her heart and to her lips; a perfect spot which can make zillions of butterflies flutter even in a man's stomach. What a wonderful morning he is experiencing now, which he forgot to feel in ages. A smile appeared on his face looking at his smiling beauty. She is smiling in her sleep as if she knew he is checking her out. And he blushed with the thought as that is what exactly crossed his mind and he couldnt help but smile at his own flirtatious thoughts. The very first sign of Arnie!!!

He slowly and very gently lifted her chin so as to not to disturb her sleep. As she moved to adjust herself, he swiftly took his hand back.

Before he walked out of the room, he made sure all curtains are down blocking sun light to let her sleep some more time.

She is sleeping. Dont disturb her! He instructed Kaka and left for office.

Arnav on his way to his cabin noticed vending machine by the corner. His eyes fell on the chocolate bars and he remembered how Khushi munched on the chocolate in the meeting yesterday. He smiled to himself much to everyone's surprise who stood to wish him Morning. He instantly walked to the machine and swiped his card. He grabbed the chocolate bar that fell in the tray below and shoved it in his suit pocket. All the employees on the floor were shocked to see him near vending machine. This is his first time stopping at that machine in 8 years. He ignored everyone and walked to her cabin.

What a mess! He muttered. Its just been one day since she joined and her room is already in pathetic state. Papers scattered all around. Pens everywhere on the floor. Chocolate wrappers on her chair. He was shocked to see her cabin in that state.

He sighed and rolled his eyes. I cannot believe this woman!!! He walked over to her desk. He picked up papers from the floor and arranged them in the files, pens in the stand, and threw the chocolate wrappers.

He then took the chocolate from his pocket and kept it on her desk imagining what her reaction would be. He contemplated very long if he should leave the chocolate on her desk or give it to her personally. All these mean nothing when YOU dont mean anything to her. His mind prompted as he was about to exit the room. He suddenly retreated his steps to her desk and took the chocolate and left to his cabin.

He stormed into his cabin and squeezed the chocolate angrily unable to accept that she never belonged to him. He threw his hand up in the air lashing the chocolate in the empty bin.

I hate you Khushi Kumari Gupta for making my life so miserable.

Its 8.45AM when Khushi finally woke up to the sound of her cellphone ringtone. She picked up the phone and spoke still asleep.

H.e.l.l.o?

Khushi, Are you still sleeping?

Hmmm.

Wake up beta. Its going to be 9. Garima spoke in panicked tone.

Khushi called Garima last night and asked her to give wake up call at 7AM.

Amma its just 9AM. Please let me sleep some more time. Aap bhi so jao...after few secs, Khushi realized the actual time and Arnav's angry face flashed in front her slumbered eyes...Kya? its 9AM. Amma why didnt you wake me up. Oh my god, oh my god, I am so dead. He is going to kill me for being late. Amma aap bhi na. Why didnt you wake me up? Khushi started her rants and ran across her room totally lost and confused.

I am sorry beta. I was making pooris. Garima couldnt come up with better reason.

Then go and enjoy your pooris. I will talk to you later. Khushi hung up the phone abruptly.

What did Khushi say? Shashi asked with huge grin on his face.

All because of you Shashi. Now she is so mad at me. Garima smarted.

You know her 2min anger. She will call you in the evening, dont worry.

But Shashi why didnt allow me to call her earlier?

So that she will learn to be responsible. If she has to win her husband, first thing she needs to learn is to respect time. He hates people who are not punctual. Now I have to see if he is going to set the same rules for our daughter as well. Shashi sipped his tea looking forward to the fun filled day.

Khushi picked her handbag on her way out of the room and she noticed blanket lying on the floor near her desk. She picked it up from the floor and tried to recollect if she used it last night. She didnt remember wrapping herself in it. She then checked the black-out curtains drawn to the floor. She remembered clearly that she pulled them up last night to allow moon light into the room.

Who must have done it? Kaka? No, he wont enter the room without knocking. Arnav? She got into her usual investigation mode. If she is right about Arnav, he would have left the traces of his fragrance somewhere in the room. She thought.

Back in college days, he was known for wearing strong masculine Goetz Rum Tonic that intoxicated and drove god knows how many girls crazy. She recollected how her thoughts used to waver whenever he came near her wearing that musk. She smiled remembering their best moments of their college and soon her smile turned to sorrow to see him all changed now. She misses his lively flirty attitude.

She took deep breath with a sigh and sniffed the blanket to smell the trace of his fragrance. She failed. The blanket smelled like a typical blanket. She huffed and then paced to the curtains and sniffed the curtain tassel that is used to pull and tie the curtain cloth to the side of the window frame.

Bang on! I am so right. That has to be him. She sniffed it again and again to make sure it is male-scent. But the aroma is different, not the one he used in the college. This is more on the woody and spicy notes. She noted. This one has to be you Mr. Raizada. She blushed feeling the blanket between her fingers and understood that it was him who wrapped the blanket around her..

The only man who will barge into ladies room as and when he thinks. She concluded her investigation and left the room calling Kaka.

Kaka, I am leaving. Take care of yourself. I will see you in the evening.

Khushi bitiya, wont you eat breakfast.

Kaka, I am hungry but I dont have time. That military man will kill me. She sulked wearing her stilettos. Did Arnav eat his breakfast?

No. He said he will grab something on his way.

What? he didnt eat anything?

Nothing since last night.

Why? Is his health OK?

He seems to be fine. He sat down to eat last night. Then he asked me where you were. I said you were in your room. Then he came to meet you. After that he didnt come down to eat. When I called him, he said he is not hungry.

But how can he not eat? Is he still on medication?

He is. These days he is taking pills without food.

Oh my God how could he do that on empty stomach? Its going to ruin his liver. Kaka, pack us food. I will take it along. Khushi removed her stilettos and followed Kaka into the house. Kaka, if you see me acting weird and screaming in the future for no reason, make sure you admit me to mental asylum. Because this man one day is going to make me mental for sure. She exasperated making Kaka burst into laughter.

Its 10.30AM and Arnav returned from the client meeting to find Khushi nowhere in the office.

He dialed Aman and learnt that Khushi didnt make it to the office yet. As he was just about to call home to find out if she is okay, his receptionist informed him that Mittals are on phone.

Sir, Mr. Mittal in on line 2. The receptionist paged him.

Put me through. He already decided what to do about Mittals deal. Without hesitating for a sec, he stated his final decision, Mr. Mittal, I checked the numbers and facts. I dont think its worth taking it up for such marginal profits.

But Mr. Raizada, you promised us that you will get this contract at any cost.

Mr. Mittal I believe in quality than quantity and you believe just the opposite. Its against my principles and I wont compromise in that.

Mr. Raizada..I am going to take you to court for verbally accepting the contract and backing out in the last min. I am going to lodge a complaint.

Please do it and shove it up in your a**. Have a good day Mr. Mittal. He cut the call.

Did you just said that to him. Khushi excitedly jumped onto Arnav out of nowhere.

What the! Arnav swiftly rolled back in his chair with her sudden entry.

How did you do that? Wow that is so cool Arnav. Wait, I didnt even give you my review report, how did you decide?

Why does she always ask me tough questions? He had no answer but had complete faith in her when she said that deal is not right for AR Designs. He stood up from his chair and pretended checking some files.

Did you just come now? He tried to change the topic.

Thats not the point. I didnt give you any report and how did you make the decision. Most importantly, if you already decided, why did you make me work all night. Look at my eyes, they are sooo red. She opened her lids and showed her eyes to him in close-up

No, they are clear. I dont see any redness. He spoke innocently boosting up her irritation to whole new level..

They were red until 5 mins ago.

He adored the way she is complaining non-stop and he was about to explode in laughter.

I never had a night without 10hrs sleep. But for last 2 days, I didnt sleep at all. All thanks to you Mr. Raizada. My life has been like that ever since I married you. She said it casually like how a typical wife would crib everything about her man.

Then what made you come back to my life which is nothing but hell. His mood changed instantly and he roughly slammed her to his chair and leaned onto her with his hands on the armrests.

For the first time, Khushi got scared with his volatile tone and riled up anger. Her lips started quivering and her palms started shaking nervously. I..I..I didnt mean in that way Arnav. She stuttered. She quickly realized what blunder she made.

Then what the hell did you mean? He bored into her eyes angrily.

She could hear his heart beating erratically and his temperamental breaths slapping her face. As he was about to trash her one more time, she did something she never imagined she would do to him. She raised her right hand which is by now trembling in fear and touched his cheek with her fingertips. She retreated her fingers and waited for his reaction. He didnt move nor blinked but his heart started beating million times faster. And his breaths became more labored and relaxed. She took that as a sign and she touched his cheek again with her finger tips, with little more confidence; her eyes trailed along her fingers, totally engrossed in his stubbled cheeks for the very first time. She then massaged her soft thumb against his rough stubble, as if soothing his pain and calming his anger. He closed his eyes experiencing the new touch and new feel. He felt as if all the riled up heat of his life trying to escape through his eyes. He cannot afford a single tear infront of her. That would be the last thing he would want to do, to break down in front of her. As her thumb landed near the corner of his lips, he stopped her hand bringing her and himself from the trance and said, Dont lure me to do something that you might regret later. He stood straight to walk away from her. She felt embarassed for what she was doing but she swiftly caught his wrist and stood in front of him.

Your eyes are red. I guess you didnt sleep either. Does that mean that my being in your life turned it into hell?

Khushi, I have lot of work and have no time for this nonsense. All these dont matter to us. He is upset. How could she think that she made his life hell. After ages, He woke up with a smile on his face this morning. She broke the ritual of boring and frustrating mornings that he experienced for so many years. How could she think of herself like that. He is more upset than being mad at her.

They do matter Arnav. Else you wouldnt be so upset about what I said.

She is provoking him again to reveal his feelings, his turmoil. He cant let this happen. He immediately gripped her arms tightly and spoke in threatening voice, If you think I am sleeping, eating or doing whatever I am doing because of you then FORGET IT. He yelled. You mean nothing to me and you dont even exist for me, do you understand?

She stood numb and shocked. She looked at him as he turned his face away from her. She never had the intention of taking an important place in his life but as his friend; but the way he said what she means in his life hurt her deeply. Her confidence stooped low and doubted her own efforts to bring him back. She wiped her tears and was about to exit the room silently when she noticed chocolate bar in the trash bin. She bent down to see if it is just the wrapper or the chocolate itself. Arnav saw her checking it out. Damn! was the first word that came to his mind and he sighed as being caught. That didnt go unnoticed by Khushi.

She understood his battle again. He bought it but his ego stopped him. But what's so egoistic about it? Why is he doing this to me and to himself? She asked herself these questions while gazing at him angrily.

I dont know which idiot bought this chocolate and threw it here. She commented trying to get his reaction on this.

He frowned, clasped his fists almost about to yell at her one more time for calling him idiot. But he quickly realized her smartness and sucked in his anger.

Do you know who that is Arnav? She asked casually as if everything is normal between them.

He nodded NO.

Well, sorry buddy. Then I have to claim you as mine. She opened the wrapper and was about to put it in her mouth.

Arnav hurriedly grabbed the chocolate from her mouth, Khushi what are you doing? How could you eat from there?

Relax Arnav. It has wrapper around and the bin is clean. I am sure it is ok. She snatched it back from his hands.

Arnav snatched it again from her hands, Dammit lady, whats wrong with you? How could you eat something that is sitting for more than 3 hrs?

How do you know?

Because I trashed it around 8 and its sitting there since..He stopped. He blurted out the truth. He realized he was played. He looked annoyed and looked everywhere but her.

She snatched the chocolate again from his hands. Dont worry, I will not dig the details from now on, as this just showed that I MEAN NOTHING IN YOUR LIFE. She stressed last part of this sentence making him feel guilty. And to his surprise she did take a bite of the chocolate.

At the door, she turned around and said, I know you said you are busy. But I will be back after an hour. I got food from home. We will do lunch together.

I dont think I will make it. I have appointments during that time.

Upto you to eat or not but I will be here waiting for you.
