Great post! For the rasam of: sindoor (jodha parents turning back). I don't know if this is followed by everybody, but the girl's family can't look as sindoor is being put. The sindoor signifies that the daughter is now someone's wife. Basically the belief is looking away also keeps the bad feelings/wishes away! Don't know if I m making sense but that's what my mom told me when I asked her this question when I attended my uncle's wedding.

ok...any of my forum friends would like to put some light on why the elders/ministers gave sm token after jalal's sehra bandi?

No idea yaar .muhey kisi rasam ka koi idea nahi hai but haan vo neem se jodha ki mom ne jo kiya vo karte hain i think vo nazar utharne ke liye dulhe ki...baaki rasamo ka nahi maalom

Wow...nice post because seeing them look away I had thought perhaps they were to sad knowing she was now a married woman hence they looked away...Thanks for the clarification.
