Balance is the name of the game whether for a mytho, or regular serial or a b'wood movie or anything in life for that matter. My instant reaction was of imbalance. Granted that we were anxious for the milan, but that did not in any way make us feel the way we did about Mahadev's unnecessary intrusion, regardless of whether we are new or old viewers.

I had been wanting to express my feelings but held back as we, rather I have come into the serial much late and was not sure if my sentiments would touch many sensitive nerves. Turns out that's what happened. No offence Deboleena but I have a feeling my sentiments echo similar reaction from at least few other members like Angie, new or old.

Radev24, I will give creatives a pass for now as it is only one episode. As I said before, I watched about 7 episodes of Ramayan so far. I felt like this for the first time since Friday. Maybe the fall in ratings is the cause for showing Mahadev so much.

As I have written before, I have not liked earlier depictions of Ramayan too much because of how they have seen Ram and Sita as these one-dimensional characters. Many love those depictions, but I prefer such one-dimensional depictions only in street Ramleela of which I am a big fan.

I was interested in seeing Ramayan in Mahadev because I like CVs here the way they have interpreted Mahadev. So I have more faith in them than say Zee's Ramayan. So even if Rubina was not Sita, I was planning to watch Ramayan. So far Sita's depiction has really impressed me.

Also because of reading views about Mahadev participants about earlier episodes, I started watching earlier episodes. Now I have to agree with Deboleena and others who always write that Sati era was the best era of Mahadev. I loved how their interpretation was of a battle between free thinking, free spirit, non discrimination (Shiv's philosophy) vs. rigidity and ritualism (Daksh's philosophy). Now my expectations for Ramayan are higher and I want that kind of treatment for Ramayan. I reallyhope they show that instead of becoming a prisoner of ratings.

Angie it's also been refreshing to read your analyses on any forum and the back & forth discussion btw you and janaki was interesting, not that i read every word of it cuz i did not. Likewise reading this thread of yours, i learned more than any other written material about dkdm. so thanks for that.🤗
Here for instance your comparison btw zee ramayan and dkdm is quite interesting esp for somebody like me cuz i never watched ANY mytho ever before until now, so what u saying about the 2 versions seems to make sense.
Yes, watching a 4 min of end of sati era was a mindful and seeing huge big tears in mahadev's eyes, frankly i have never seen a camera close up depicting a very hurt emotion that closely. And that was enough for me to visualize what he entire era must be like. Everyone here is just going gaga over it, watching them over and over again is a huge testimony.
Today's epi can be summarized just in two words ~ amazing and ego, the 2nd word of course relating to ravan.

Hi Angie,

KJo mentions that Shuddhi is not based on Meluha ... and I hope he is right.

I cant even think of the horror otherwise

Poetic, even then I can only think of his version as horror with Hritik/Kareena as Shiv/Parvati and KJo as the producer (or worse even a director).

beautiful analysis angie and i agree with each and every word of yours.

let me add a few more things:

the cv's are bringing in mahadev in each and every frame. anyone can easily make out that those scenes are imaginary.
specially mahadev meeting ing dashrath before killng of shravan kumar and so many unwanted scenes with taraka in karati form.
these are so imaginary t feels as if mahadev is simpl being used in every seen in order to prove tht he's the central character which is not necessary since we all know it very well that he IS the central character.

so cv's should STOP bringing in hypothetical stuff and shows whats legitimate.

and YEs ur right. in the beginning episodes the major concentration was on Sati. there have been so many epiosodes full of sati scenes and mahadev was shown for hardly 2-3mins or not even shown. but we used to wait eagerly for his apperance. even those 2 or 5 mins were enough to mesmerize us. Mahadev was shown when it was necessary to show him. and even that short period has a magnificient effect on us viewers.

But now by deliberately bringing in Mahadev in every frame just to improve TRP's they are ruining the beauty of the show. mahadev's contribution in ramayan should be shown completely. but there's no need to introduce non-existing scenes just for timepass.

I agree. The moment I heard that he has bought the rights from Amish, I could feel the shudders running through me.

And Kareena as parvati/ Sati? Shucks! can't even think of it. Sorry no offense.
