It's unfortunate that he left - they put too big a break b/w his building that palace for Parvati and then him trying to uproot Kailash. They should have had the entire Ravan track after Jalandhar's.

By now, I think any garden variety bhakt could have eclipsed Ravan in terms of being a greater bhakt, as per this serial 😆 Although more seriously, I never bought the claim that Ravan was Mahadev's greatest bhakt.

Vrish, Manish Wadhwa is a theatre actor and he made his Raavan look complex whereas this new Raavan seems like a Ramleela type of character to me. OF course that time, they made Kuber more villanious and Raavan like a great soul. But Manish got a better role in Spheres Origin new show. But at least they could have gotten a better Raavan as he is the main antagonist of Ramayan.

I would say that Raavan respected Shiv, but was not his great devotee by any means. He was an opportunist. He became Shiv's devotee only when he realized that Shiv is very powerful and pressed him under Kailash for his audacity. Also his making friends with Baali and Sahastrarjun after getting defeated by them shows that he would make friends with anybody whom he considered more powerful than him.

I can partially like what they showed today if only Raavan was played by a better actor. I have read in few versions that Raavan too went for Swayamvar. But this Raavan is turning me off this Ramayan.

According to Valmiki Ramayan, it looks like Ravan did not attend Sita's swayamvar. After Laxman cuts her nose and ear, Surpnakha rushes to Ravan and explains what had happened. She also describes the beauty of Sita. Ravan was amazed on hearing this, as if he had not seen Sita before that.

Also, if Anjana has given birth to Mahadev's ansh, wouldn't that make her Parvati's saas, rather than sister? 🤣

Vrish hi!
It would make Parvati Anjana's sauten (or sister) because she is as much Mahadev's wife as Anjana is. If that wasn't the case, Anjana would not say the word "ansh", as that makes Mahadev his own ansh's father just as he is father to Ganesh and Kartikaye, both born of his wife Parvati.
Please let me know if I am wrong😕

Good episode ⭐️. They are presenting the story in a new way, since it is DkDM'S Ramayan 😊, and we are prepared for that 😊.In fact I am enjoying this new version 😊

PLot exposition and script- both are good ⭐️

Ram's explanation about bow WRT life was also nice 😊

The way I understand it, ansh is relationship-wise not a child - it's more like a self equivalent. For instance, both Rama & Krishna are conflated w/ Vishnu himself - nobody refers to them as Vishnu's sons. In the case of Shiva, the avatar is partial, in that Shiva himself doesn't cease to exist in Kailash when his avatar appears - which is why Hanuman is among the immortals, and there was never any case of Nandi going to him and asking him to return to Kailash. But that doesn't make the avatar his son.

Also, on an extended level, there are no relationships b/w 2 people whose son's happen to be avatars. Like Aditi has no relationship w/ Renuka, who has no relationship w/ Kaushalya, who has no relationship w/ Devaki. They may have all been moms of Vamana, Parashurama, Rama & Krishna, but that doesn't make them relatives. People who are reborn - those are totally new starts, and their parents don't get to be related.

You are right that it is not there in Valmiki Ramayan. Raavan did not know anything about Sita and Srupnakha was the one to tell him about Sita's beauty. I think he even did not know about Ram/Lakshman either. Before kidnapping, Mareech was the one who tried to warn him after telling him about his experience with them.

Vrish don't mean to be a pest but if there are no relationships, then saas walaa relationship does not occur either, hai na? even though your ROFL emo suggests you are saying that just in jest!😃
But by having this discussion, at least me got enlightened a bit, thanks to you!🤗
But seriously, as far as our Hindu avatars are concerned, there's no dearth of what their ultimate significance is for us kalyugis. as my mother has been advocating all her 80+ years to her children, neighbors, acquaintances.
And as an adult I have been into spiritual satsangs and have learnt something about our own existence. Last night I finally watched epi 1 (my own thread) and was mesmerized by what Mahadev stated to Prajapati Daksh about human beings, being souls and not this body (paraphrasing), coinciding with my own learnings. I may be going off the tangent a bit here but had to say a thing or two about this mahaan serial.⭐️👏
