End of July always takes me back to HP world with Dan's birthday (23rd July) and Harry & JKR's birthdays (31st July) and the feeling continues in August. So, I picked up HP books yet another time and somehow QH characters got transported in HP world. So, here is what I think would have happened if Asad was a wizard and Zoya was a witch not necessarily in Harry's time at school.
Which house they would be in?
Asad definitely a Gryffindor (Though his lack of brain in certain occasions makes me think that even the ever kind Helga Hufflepuff would refuse to take him)
Sorting hat would have strongly debated between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw for Zoya. It might even have asked Zoya what she wanted to which she might have replied, "Dunno, whatever is more fun..." The hat might have regretted asking her and after much thinking would have sorted her in Gryffindor.
Their ancestry
Asad - good chances a pure blood wizard proud of his ancestry.
Zoya - definitely a muggle-born witch whose family must be very excited to have a witch among them
Asad would be uncomfortable with Zoya's parentage though he would not voice it openly.
Their favorite subjects
Both would love Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Asad with his methodical ways and attention to details would ace Potions, too. On the other hand, Zoya would often melt her cauldron.
Zoya would enjoy Charms and I think would become favorite student of Professor Flitwick. She might enjoy Care of Magical Creatures, but not sure here.
Asad would take Arithmancy as an elective, and later when he gets interested in Zoya would take Muggle Studies to better understand her way of living. These many classes will increase his workload, but he is Asad. He can do it.
Quidditch?
Of course. I think Zoya will be a seeker and Asad a beater. Asad will become team captain in later years.
Housecup?
Asad's actions would add get points for their house and Zoya's actions would often deduct points from their house, but by end of the year, Zoya would do something big which would often result in Gryffindor winning house cup.
Their favourite food from the food trolley on Hogwarts Express
I think Zoya would enjoy every sweet.
I guess Asad would have few pumpkin pasties - a relatively healthier option.
I have a strong feeling that in later years, Zoya would develop a secret wish of Asad getting his own chocolate frog card.
Prefects?
Asad - definitely and he would give many detentions to Zoya.
Friends?
Zoya would be great friends with all the Weasleys except Percy. She would have great fun with Fred, George and Ginny.
Asad - hmmm... Zoya...may be.
What if there was an event like Yule Ball?
In their 4th/5th year - By now, Asad and Zoya would have unexplainable pull towards each other which neither would verbalize, but if something like Yule ball happens, Asad would think of asking Zoya ignoring all the girls who would want to go with him. Zoya would also refuse all proposals hoping that Asad might ask her. But, with no Dilshaad at school, Asad would never get around asking Zoya, and Zoya would say yes to some foreign wizard Farhan. Asad for the sake of appearances would take Tanveer with him. You know he cares about what people think about him, so he can't go without a partner, but would completely ignore Tanveer and wouldn't ask her for a single dance.
Later, strong possibility of Asad and Zoya having a row in the common room like Ron and Hermione.
What would be their Patronus?
Asad - Lion, of course.
Zoya - Dolphin may be or some happy bird like lark. I know obvious choice is of a lioness, but I think her patronus should be some animal/bird/fish that is brave and smart and happy. Dolphins are smart and they look like they are smiling.
What would Amorentia smell like to them?
Asad - strong cup of coffee, something related to Dilshaad (the man loves his mother a lot) and something of Zoya.
Zoya - smell of warm, just out-of-oven Pizza, freshly baked cake and something of Asad.
What would be their future careers?
Asad - Auror or a position in Ministry of Magic
Zoya - It is difficult to guess for her. She has brains and loves to experiment, but she is not serious, so she might join Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes and later become an Auror. Or, she can even go on to become an international Quidditch player. I won't be surprised if she joins Hermione's SPEW and takes the cause forward.
Which hallow would they choose?
Zoya - the stone, for obvious reasons.
Asad - I think elder wand
After going through some trials and tribulations, they might collectively choose the cloak.
