CHAPTER : 3 : PIRATES OF THE RED-SEA !!!!!!
What's wrong Uday? Manyata - there's a pirates-ship , coming straight towards us. "PIRATES" - U mean like Jack Sparrow? , she asked excitedly ... annoying Uday. Will u forget about Johnny Depp , for 1 minute. These pirates are the REAL DEAL! They take u and your boat hostage and demand millions from your government as ransom for you , he explained , getting her panicked.
What are we going to do? she asked , almost crying. Uday cupped her face and consoled : Princess - as long as I'm here ... nothing will happen! But I need you to do something for me. She nodded. I need you to radio in for help! But Uday ... , I taught you how to radio the coast-guard - just do it! Say that we're in the Red-Sea , a pirate ship is coming towards us from the Gulf of Aden. They need to send help , URGENTLY! Okay , I can do it.
He hugged her tightly : And 1 more thing - PROMISE ME ... no matter what happens , you and Udita will remain below deck; in the cabin. Lock yourself inside there , whether u hear screaming or gunshots - YOU WILL NOT COME OUT! By now Manyata was crying non-stop. She knew what Uday was implying. As much as she didn't want to leave him alone ... she had her baby to think about. I love you Uday! I love you too , Princess - now , go fast!
She immediately radioed in to the coast-guard , and lucky enough ... she got through on the first try. After getting the exact location from her ... help was despatched. But the question was ... "WILL THEY GET THERE IN TIME?"
Manyata locked herself and a sleeping Udita in the cabin ; she couldn't hear much happening above , but in her heart - she knew that all was NOT well! She kneeled on the floor and prayed for their safety ... and along with that , she hoped Udita ; would not wake up.
Uday could not turn the boat around ... there was not enough time for that. Instead , he just put a dead-stop on the yacht. The pirate-ship was within minutes ; next to MANVEER FOREVER and 4 men jumped onto the yacht as if they owned it. The leader , a ghastly looking character , who had yellow-stained , crooked teeth asked Uday something in an unknown language. When Uday didn't answer, he asked : U know English? Uday nodded. U American?
I'm Indian , Uday answered. U alone? , the man asked; while his eyes searched the deck. Yes - I'm alone! , Uday quickly replied , just in case someone was sent down to check.
Udita's eyes opened and the moment she saw her mother , she asked : Paapa? Sshhh baccha , Paapa will come just now , Manyata told her but a second later , she asked again : Paapa? Baby , papa is coming , okay! Manyata's heart was racing now , she didn't know what to do. She put a pacifier in the Baby's mouth to keep her silent ... but she pulled it out. Udita wanted her father ; and ... THAT WAS THAT!
The 4 men spoke something amongst themselves , in their native language and after a bit of discussion , 1 took out a gun and poked it in Uday's back ... You have to come with us! PAAPA! , Udita called out loudly ... Uday squeezed his eyes shut in dread. The leader of the pack , kicked Uday in the stomach - YOU LIED SENOR! He motioned for 1 of his men to go below into the cabin. Uday freed himself and pushed the second guy : It's my daughter , she's only a Baby ... leave her where she is! A gun was pointed in his face but Uday still screamed out : Manyata - darwaza MAT KHOLNA!
Uday received another blow in his abdomen , which dropped him to his knees. Come out , come out or I shoot him! , the pirate-leader ordered. Another man went to the cabin and began pounding on the door ... OPEN DOOR , OR VEE KEEL HIM! , he told in very bad English. Manyata couldn't let anything happen to Uday. Despite promising him that she'd not open the door ... SHE DID! She carried Udita and walked to where Uday and the others were , while 1 of them ; walked behind her.
She was dressed in shorts and a fully-zipped-up jacket. The moment the pirates saw her; Uday knew what was on their minds. 1 guy even licked his lips , as his focus never left her milky thighs. On seeing the ugly foursome , Udita howled non-stop, out of fear. With tear-filled eyes, Manyata looked to Uday for reassurance.
U want money ... I'll give you; just let my family and I go! , Uday tried to make a deal with the leader , but got a kick in the shin. ONLY I DO TALKING! , he screamed. How much will you give us? Can U give 1 million dollars? Uday nodded. You give us money , we leave you and Baby ... BUT WE WANT "HER" , he mocked with a crooked grin.
That was IT for Uday ... NOBODY would get away with a statement like that. In a split-second , he punched the leader and kneed him in the groin , but the cocking of guns were heard and the other 3 pointed their guns at Udita and Manyata ; and Uday had to back down.
A shot was heard and 1 man fell ... INJURED! Everyone turned to look , who fired the shot. 3 Speed boats were almost flying towards Uday's yacht. Through the loud-speaker , someone announced : THIS IS THE UNITED NATIONS COAST-GUARD , DROP YOUR WEAPONS! The 3 armed men had to drop their guns , when they saw red-lasers being pointed at them.
Manyata ran to Uday , who hugged his wife and child in relief. The coast-guards boarded Uday's yacht and hand-cuffed the 4 pirates ; and took them away in their own boat! 2 coast-guards remained behind , to tend to the medical needs of the family. Uday had bruises on his stomach , fortunately he had no fractured bones or ribs. After examining Manyata and Udita , a female C/G informed Uday : Mr Singh , your daughter is in shock , I've given her a mild sedative ; it'll calm her! Luckily , she's still very small , she will not remember this incident. After a few sleeps , she'll be back to normal. Thank you ... my wife? Mrs Singh is severely traumatised ; but I'm unable to prescribe any medication , as she's pregnant.
Mr Singh - if you don't mind ; can I give u some advice? , the second c/g asked ; to which Uday nodded. You said that you'll are headed to India after this ; my suggestion is ... U take your family to the Maldives. The island is a 3-day sail from here, just go there ... UNWIND & RELAX. It'll help all 3 of you'll to get over this horrific experience.
Uday agreed that it was a great idea , and decided to spend at least a week there. As expected , Udita was petrified for the next 2 days and talked in inaudible whispers. But , by the time ; the family reached Maldives - she was back to normal; forgetting all about the 4 "ogres" she saw.
How are u feeling now Princess? Manyata just smiled back at Uday. I'm sorry! Uday - how many times are u going to apologise? Till u forgive me. There's NOTHING to forgive Uday. U , obviously ; did not plan our encounter with pirates , she tried to reassure him. I was an idiot to plan this cruise in the first place! Oi ... don't u call my husband , an "idiot" . Uday smiled at her. Only I have a right to do THAT , haan nai toh! , she added making Uday raise an eye-brow.
Uday - can I call home? Hmmm! She proceeded to make the call , but her shocked tone and innumerable questioning session of WHEN? HOW? WHY? , left Uday baffled about the conversation she was having. Even before Uday could ask her the content of what she spoke , she started like an express train ... Uday - you'll never believe what Maa told me!
Vijay Bhai is gone to London, to join his father in business. He wants to make a name for himself and he says that in 2 years time ... he will ask YOU for Unnati's hand in marriage , HIMSELF! OH , so finally he grew some guts! , Uday shot back. You know - THIS is ALL YOUR FAULT. My poor brother has to suffer , because of YOU! , she poked his finger into his chest. Your brother is not "poor" and anyways; it's time he earned his own living! If he succeeds , I'll happily permit him to marry Chotti. Not "IF" Uday ; "WHEN"! WHEN he succeeds , he WILL marry Unnati!
So , is that ALL the news Komal Aunty gave you? NO! Jai is back home! What?! Yeah , she got discharged 6 weeks ago and she's at home. Maa says she's perfectly alright now and DS is even thinking about getting her and Jaggat married.

1 child Princess , because the other 1; you're keeping all to yourself! , he faked sadness. He kneeled in front of Manyata and raised her shirt, revealing her baby-bump. She was just over 5 months pregnant and Uday was impatient , for his child to make an entry. Hi Baby , this is your Dad! , his lips brushed against Manyata's very tender skin , sending tremors through her. I know u feel nice and warm and safe inside your Mum's tummy ... but your Dad is very eager to have u in his arms! So , PLEASE COME SOON. Your Mom thinks you're a boy, but it doesn't matter to me if you're a girl. Daddy loves you , Baccha! , he kissed on Manyata's stomach.
Hogaya? , she asked impatiently. Haan , kyun ... jalan ho rahi hain? Nahi , mujhe bathroom jana hain! , she pushed him and ran off to the bathroom , leaving a laughing Uday behind. When she returned , she found him giving Udita a very adult-like" lecture : Sweety Pie , next week ; you'll be 1 year-old. Which means you're a very big girl now. Your new sibling will be the "baby of the house" . Mamma & Paapa will always love you, but the new Baby will take up most of our time. You will have to learn about sharing, because ... Shut-up Uday; look at her - her eyes are closing ... you're boring her to sleep.
She took the Baby and started to feed her. Udita didn't like what she was given and pushed it out of her mouth with her tongue. Mum-mum , she kept saying and hitting on her mother's chest. No Bacha , you hurt Mamma with your sharp teeth yesterday ... now you have to start eating like a big girl. Mamma can't give u milk all the time. But Udita was not too thrilled about the pureed banana, she was being fed and continued to throw it out. Manyata asked Uday to help.
He crouched in front of Udita and told her sternly : You scraped Mamma's skin - BAD MANNERS! Now , you're spitting out your food - VERY BAD MANNERS! He held a spoon to her mouth and she opened up obediently ; and swallowed it too ... without a fuss. Good girl! , Uday kissed on her head. Kuch seekho Princess , he whispered , then bit Manyata's ear-lobe. She pointed a finger at him and scolded : U bit Mamma ... VERY BAD MANNERS! Udita started clapping and giggling.
The week long stay was , very quickly - OVER! Manveer said good-bye to the soft, white sands and sun-kissed beaches ; not to forget , the verdant, lush greenery. The place was the ideal, relaxation spot ... perfect destination to end off their adventurous honey-moon. In the next 3 days , they'll be back in Mumbai ... home-sweet-home! And Manyata was most excited ... as she wanted to share her pregnancy news with her family. She had avoided telling them over the phone; as she wanted to do it personally.
Gooo - Udita pointed out to the ocean. No Baby , u can't "goo" in the water. Remember , when Paapa put Baby's toes in the pool ... then Baby didn't like the cold-water. Even your Mamma and I can't swim there ... the water is too cold & deep - we'll get drowned ... and we don't want THAT ; do we? , Uday lovingly explained to his daughter ; little did he know - a tempest was brewing on the horizon; 1 that would force him and his family ... TO SWIM FOR THEIR LIVES!
WRITER'S NOTE : I have been having a problem in sending out BULK PM'S for many months now. I've been sending out SCRAPS informing my readers of my updates.
