I am sure, you know of my current situation. I have always believed in living with my head held high. Recent events, have caused me to take a drastic step in my personal life. However, doing so was necessary as respect is very important to me. |
I was to be married to Gautam. Everything was going well for us. I liked his nature and the fact that he respected me and my family. My parents were very happy as well. As time passed by and we came closer to our day of marriage, I began noticing a change in his behaviour and that of his family members. They were constantly troubling my parents and causing them pain. I could not bear the to see what they were going through. Hence, on my wedding day I took the huge decisions of not marrying him.
I strongly believe, that if you continue to let people disrespect you, you will continue receiving bad treatment. I did not want to subject myself to such shabby behaviour. As a woman, I believe it is important to set standards for yourself. If you do not expect respect you will certainly not get any. If you continue behaving like a doormat you will be walked upon.
