Asya SS- The Guest Lecturer (intro & prt 1 -pg 1)

Part 1

"Zoya...hurry up girl..you are getting late for your school", shouted Mrs. Farooqi, Zoya's mother. "Yes mom." came the reply from upstairs. Soon a fairly tall girl came running down the stairs in red skirt and off-white shirt. Zoya, was a carefree and bubbly girl having raven black eyes and hair. Zoya was 14 and according to her mother 'a little more than a child'. But her age did not stop her from speaking her mind, she was sensible girl but could get headstrong and filly at times.

Zoya's parents no longer lived with each other. Mr. Siddiqui left Zoya's mother when Zoya was just a toddler and from then Zoya had a grudge against her dad which was very obvious. Later,Mrs. Siddiqui took up her maternal title Farooqui. But these hard situations did not stop Mrs. Farooqui from giving her only child; good upbringing and education .Zoya was a brilliant student and a good writer. All in all, Zoya's life was going very slickly until Asad entered her life.

Asad Ahmed Khan shifted in the apartment next to Zoya's. He was a doing his B.A. 3^{rd year} in English honors. He was a handsome lad-fair, tall,well-built, had brown eyes and jet black hair. He was of a quite nature. Gradually he became acquainted with others living in the colony. He was helpful, kind-hearted guy and also a praiseworthy student. Soon he became a preferred by almost everyone in the colony and roughly all the teenage girls who lived in the colony were behind him, well not factually, but they tried to get his attention as much as possible. If it is said that he was the only handsome young man in the colony, then it would be unjust. There were several young lads but he topped the list. However, Asad always kept distance from the simpletons.

As the days passed Zoya became aggravated with the praises that were bestowed on Asad in his presence or absence. Actually it was not that she was jealous of the attention he was getting, she was irritated because now her friends only had one topic to discuss about-Asad. Recently even her mother started praising him. This made Zoya a little bit jealous because her mother was not a person to praise anyone just like that! Zoya thought,"What the deuce is there in this fellow that has made him apple of everyone's eye?"

But she was astounded when her mother's sudden announcement that Asad was going to give her tuition. She was more than disappointed and she had argued a lot but at last surrendered and agreed to take tuition from him.
