New TRP system from rival site
TAM ratings have seen a slight change this week. The numbers, instead of percentages, will be doled out in thousands. And instead if TVR (Television Viewership Ratings), it will be called TVT (Television Viewership in Thousands).
Any shift from usual does cause an element of confusion; however the move is set to bring in more transparency in the proceedings, media analysts believe.
As far as the channel ratings are concerned it has been named GVT (Gross Viewership in Thousands) from GRP (Gross Rating Points).
Thus, going by the latest TV viewership measurement parameters, Star Plus is placed first with 473998 GVTs. Colors comes next and takes the second place with 455603 GVTs. Zee TV stands third with 340809 GVTs and Sony Entertainment Television fills in the fourth place with 315840 GVTs. SAB TV and Life OK maintain their fifth and sixth positions with 299761 and 239981 GVTs respectively. Lastly, Sahara One gets 33964 GVTs.
