Don't worry you guys. While the claims of Maham Anga that Jalal is giving Jodha an empty title of Mallika to sort to take away her freedom is right, you can also see from the episode that Jalal is already kind enough to her. He orders a new palace for her. Which is a great thing. He knows that Jodha should be kept away from his other queens. And "Shahenshah ka intezar" seems like an empty threat to me. I am about hundred percent certain that he will keep visiting her all the time. He won't even give her the chance of waiting for him. Mark my words. 😆

Another soul like mine ... ahhh how wonderful to meet you😊 Yup those words, once I looked them up and realized the true extent of what he meant destroyed me. I love the drama but now I'm on pins and needles to see how he is going to put that statement into action. At least I can enjoy the wedding week without this, but its hanging over my head.

True...she probably won't be kept to wait...he's going to impose on her peace and tranquility at every inconvenient moment for Jodha that he can...

The "so called kindness" he showed though about the new palace...well that line just took away my hope of any kindness...its a contradiction don't you think that he will allow her to practice her religion but then will impose his mughal sensibilities / customs on her...😡

Yes, but don't you think that was to be expected? I mean a muslim king, in those times, can only be open-minded to a certain extent. And he was reasonably fair in his attitude to Jodha already. With time, everything else will change too. Moreover, even now women are expected to accept teh rules of their Sausral, are they not? Why should Jodha be different? If we keep aside the fact that Jodha is a hindu princess, we would expect a girl to follow the rules of her Sasural, hai nah? Yes, Jalal could be kinder, but he was already fair enough.

As if Jodha would actually wait for him! Pfft - I think our princess would rejoice at the idea of him leaving her alone! May even attempt kicking him out 🤣 But yes, I agree, he won't let her be, oh no, he'll be haunting her everyday! And that's what I'm dying to see - watching them bicker and banter 😆

Ps - Purdah? I think our Jalal doesn't want others eye-balling his 'possession'. Just a funny guess.

You have a very reasonable point of view. I for one could never live with my in laws for that very reason and do not live with them, but its also a factor of different upbringing...as much as I love the drama aspect of stories such as this and the love story, as a Feminist I also cringe at many things that are shown whether modern day or past tense.

|On a side note: Yes I understand that modern day Bahu's are still expected to adjust to their sasural, but its always the woman who has to do this adjusting...that bothers me to the extreme because it seems as if the upbringing from your own parents is supposed to be forgotten and you are just supposed to accept how everything is at your in laws. As a feminist I Completely do not agree, but I know many people do not or are not allowed to have that choice... I could go on and on...but i"ll stop.

Haha. My dear girl, I myself am an active feminist. My upbringing has been quite radically different from the average Indian girls as well. Bengalis are usually quite progressive. But what I said was entirely from the context of the show, from the perspective of an average Indian audience- people who expect women to follow rules and stuff. This is the very reason I stay away from Indian tv shows. At least in this show, I can convince myself with the excuses of time and circumstances. 😆 Things I refuse to understand when it comes to shows set in contemporary world.
