First of all, do you think Deepika would look good as Pakhi? No. Just look at her in CE, I'm sorry but she looks horrible.
I think she couldn't have played Pakhi. I'm not even a fan of Sonakshi but she did a fab job in Lootera :)

If everyone starts doing the same roles it will look boring.!
Deepika has improved a lot.. she was amazing in YJHD.. and people did connect with her character

since acting is not her forte n her dialogue delivery is Bad. n this role requires maximum acting.

but then Sonakshi cant do Veronica too..since sona dont wanna shed her clothes

As much as I like DP, she's become very overrated as an actor, and on the basis of one mediocre performance that was Cocktail.
She's still very average, can do some things well and some not as well.

She would have a hard time doing a period drama. At the same time, Sonakshi is no big shot either. They're both in different leagues and cannot do what each other can, so the comparison is pretty trivial.

i think lootera and ramleela belong to the same genre of films.. so just wait n watch.. personally, yes she could have done it, but not as good as sona... bu that doesnt mean sona is a better actress... i mean, no one cant imagine sona in break ke baadkind of films!!
