Kasamh Se is a Hindi drama serial produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Anil V Kumar. It has been shown since 2006 on Zee TV every weeknight. Kasamh Se deals with the trials and tribulations of three sisters, Bani, Pia and Rano, and is inspired by the american novel Little Women.

Bani, Pia and Rano are three sisters who live in Mount Abu with their father, Nishikant Dixit. Their mother died seven years earlier, and since then, their father has become an alcoholic.

Before Nishikant dies, he makes Bani promise that she will protect and take care of her younger sisters. After his death, Bani is given a letter from Dayal, a family friend, which contains the address of Jai Walia - the man who will take care of them. The three sisters then go to Jai Walia in Mumbai and are given shelter there.

Jai's sister, Jigyasa and her son, Ranveer hate the sisters. In the meantime, Jai realises that he loves Pia, and proposes marriage to her, despite the age barrier. Pia, despite being in love with Pushkar, agrees to the marriage believing that Jai will give her a better life than Pushkar can. However, later on, Pia decides to elope with Pushkar. Jigyasa then suggests that Jai marriage Bani, and pressure is applied to Bani. Despite Jai and Bani getting married, Jai refuses to accept her as his wife.

Over time, Masi's presence and Bani's persuasion improves the relationship between Jai and Bani. Jai starts liking Bani for whom she is. However life has something else in store for them.

Plot

Bani knows of Jai and Pia's relationship

Pia tells Anupam Kapadia that she is carrying his child and that she will tell the whole world about it. Anupam Kapadia says there is only one way to end this and takes out a gun. He shoots Pia in the stomach, Jai Walia is shell shocked. As Pia falls, jai Walia holds her. Jai Walia does not want her to die and tells Anupam Kapadia the child Pia was carrying was not his but of Jai Walia. He holds Anupam of killing his child. He desparately pleads to Pia that not to die with his child, Bani enters.

Bani is shell shocked on finding out about Jai Walia and Pia. Jai Walia tries to convince Bani, but she refuses to let him touch her. Pia tells Bani all the drama was created in order for Jai Walia to confess. Bani walks on the road all alone. Jai Walia confronts Pia, he asks everyone in the house to go away. Jai Walia cannot believe how Pia managed to do such a thing, Pia tells Jai Walia he needs to take care of her child. Mausi over hears their conversation, when Jai slaps Pia. Jai Walia throws Pia out of the house. Mausi confronts Jai Walia and slaps him. She demands to know where is Bani and orders him to get her back. Aditya and Jigyasa argue over what Jai Walia did to Bani. Aditya tells Jigyasa that Jai Walia is wrong. Rano feels betrayed; Sahil feels his only hope of keeping Jai Walia under control is finished. Rano tells Sahil he is too self involved, tells him she made a mistake by liking him and gives him the divorce papers. Mausi meets the members of the house, and looks behind.

Bani is still unable to come out of the shock. She returns home looking disheveled and lost. Mausi and others try to speak to her but she does not reciprocate. Bani enters her room, she removes the ring given by Jai Walia to her. When she packs her bags to leave the house, Mausi stops her. Mausi does not want Bani to leave for Jai Walia's mistake. Then Jai Walia enters the house. Mausi confronts Jai Walia on entering the house. She tells him when Bani came to his life, it was all good but now by this act he has spurned her name. Mausi curses Jai Walia that he will never attain peace in his life again. Also Mausi tells Jai Walia he is dead for this house and four days of mourning will be observed. Everybody else is shocked; Mausi then throws him out of the house. Jai walia looks back at the house, remembers the moments spent there.

Mausi walks around the reflecting; Jigyasa tries to defend Jai Walia. Jigyasa wants to know how did Mausi decide Jai Walia is the culprit when Pia too equally was at fault. Mausi poses the question to Jigyasa and her daughter Anu. Mausi defends Bani and tells everyone the son who cannot respect his wife is not fit to remain in the house. Mausi tells Jai will be never allowed in the house and Bani will never leave the house. Jai Walia is at the beach wandering, Aditya comes and saves him from the tide. Bani reflects on Jai Walia and his betrayal. Mausi tries to stop Bani from going away; she gets down on her knees to stop Bani. Bani is in her room, Rano meets her. Rano tells Bani to forget Jai Walia and Pia as they both have ruined her life. Rano wants Bani to show some reaction, breaks off her mangalsutra. Rano desperately tries to make Bani react who just blankly stares at her. As Pia comes to the Walia house, Rano stops her. Rano tells Pia their sister is now as good as dead. Pia tells Rano she had left Pushkar for Bani and how both her and Jai Walia's being single brought them together. Pia tells she chose her love for Jai Walia over her love for Bani as a sister. Rano tells Pia, for her personal happiness, Bani sacrificed everything. Pia tells Rano you never understood me and moves inside.

Mausi seeks forgiveness from her sister for not being able to raise Jai Walia properly. Pia enters Bani's room and tells her not to forgive her and that everything Pia did was for her own love. Pia touches Bani who gets petrified by her touch. Pia tries to talk to Bani but Bani begins to shiver and goes to a corner. Pia is startled at Bani's state and tries to make her talk. Rano comes in and throws Pia out. Mausi's daughter Karuna catches her; Jigyasa, Rano and Mausi are shocked to see her. Karuna chides Mausi for throwing Pia out, Mausi tells Rano to throw Pia out. Jai Walia reflects on Mausi's words and his current situation. Jai Walia takes Pia to the same cliff. He tells her lets become one and die together. Pia agrees and then asks Jai Walia what about the child? Jai Walia asks Pia what respect will her child give her tomorrow and what kind of a mother she will be as she has deceived her own sister? Dadi wants Mausi to make Bani react somehow. Mausi removes Jai Walia's nameplate and tells Jai will no longer be a Walia and that Bani will begin a new life. Karuna meets Bani, tries to make her talk. She narrates her past to Bani; Mausi comes in and takes Bani away. Mausi speaks to Bani; Lakshmi comes in and speaks about Karuna and her relationship. Mausi gets angry and tells Lakshmi not to keep any relations with her. Jai Walia meets Tarun, tells him Bani is now the owner of Jai Walia's empire. Tarun speaks to Jai Walia about Bani. Jai Walia explains things to Tarun and still wants to see her once. Tarun asks him will he able to face Bani? And that his property is also of no use to Bani.

Pushkar meets Bani, tries to make her come out of the shock. Pushkar tells Bani how he dealt with the situation, and gives her hope. Rano meets Pushkar, who tells her he shares the same pain as Bani is. Karuna speaks to Jigyasa about how Mausi is still not able to forgive her. Tarun comes home, tells Jigyasa and others about Jai Walia's decision of transferring all his property in Bani's name. Jigyasa is unable to control herself on hearing this news. Rashi feels bad on seeing Bani in this state, Anu comforts her. Rano meets Bani with her accessory box and shows her items from it. There is old picture of Bani and her father, her father empty wallet. Bani does not still show any emotion, Rano speaks to Rashi and Anu. Rashi meets Bani, persists with her to speak. Karuna meets Pia, and shows her the bottle. It is the same bottle from which Pia added drops to Jai Walia's drink in Dubai. Karuna tells how she got the bottle and also assures Pia that her secret will be kept safe. The doctor comes for Bani's checkup, tells everyone Bani needs to react in 24 hours. Bani see's a butterfly suffer, goes to help it without realizing it is already dead. Pia meets Jai Walia, tells him how she had decided to get him by hook or crook. And she demands to know what has he decided about their child and gives him a deadline of 24 hours to make a choice? Jai Walia receives a phone call

Bani remembers an incident from childhood where in Pia gets stubborn and it results in a butterfly getting killed. Mausi prays to get a solution. Jai returns back, brushes against the security guard and enters inside. Mausi questions his entry, Jai Walia tells her he has come to meet Bani and heads for her room. He is no mood to listen to anyone. Jai Walia meets Bani, accuses her of ruining his life. He tells Bani, he was close to her out of pity. And Jai Walia tells Bani, he does not need her and he has Pia with him. Pia feels good as Jai Walia speaks. Jai Walia makes Pia tell Bani about their relationship. When Mausi intervenes, Jai Walia turns on her and tells her you are not my mom and this is my house. He opens the cupboard and removes pictures of the time spent by Bani and Jai. He starts to tear them and also burns their consummation picture. Later Jai Walia proposes to Pia in front of everyone and she agrees. Pia feels Jai Walia is with her. Bani walks by, Mausi faints. Bani comes n front of her parent's portrait, her duppata catches fire which spreads across the house. Everyone rush out to save themselves, Pia wants Jai Walia to take care. Jai walia goes back to get Bani and comes out with her, Pia gets wild. Pia blasts Jai Walia saying all his actions showed no concern for her and the child. Pia tells Jai Walia, she fought against her own sister for him and he made of mockery of she and her child. Jai Walia scorns the family members for not saving Bani from the fire. And he tells them he is not going to be around for Bani. Everyone is concerned how Bani will get out of this situation. It begins to rain. Mausi feels Bani will not cry at all and that Bani has become a stone.

Jai cries his heart out to Karuna and begs her to do something to make Bani cry. Tarun informs the family that they have got a big Hotel deal and Bani has to be a part of the meeting since now the property is in her name. The family is worried that how will Bani participate in the meeting. Masi ensures that she will get Bani to be a part of meeting. Bani is completely silent at the meet when Jai comes there and insults her. he says Bani is not competent enough to handle this hotel deal when she cant take care of herself. Tarun asks Jai to leave. Jai leaves with a heavy heart. Karuna realizes how much pain Jai is going through for Bani. Rano takes up the responsibility to help Bani in the new hotel deal, however Sahil tells her that she shouldn't have taken up the same as she is pregnant. Rano says she is sure of what she wants to do. Karuna warns Pia that she will have to pay a heavy price for making Bani go through all the pain

Pia meets Jai Walia and tells him she is not feeling well. Jai Walia asks her why is she doing such a drama? Pia tells Jai Walia, the baby is kicking her, she makes him touch and Jai Walia reflects on Bani and his life. Jai Walia reassures and tells the child you will get all your rights. Rano and Bani see Jai and Pia at the office. Rano tells Jai Walia everyone hates him now. Pia interrupts, Jai walia restrains her and tells Rano all you guys have gone mad behind Bani. Jai Walia and Pia leave holding hands. Karuna questions the family's decision of siding with Bani. Jai Walia tells Karuna how he plans to make Bani all right. As the party begins, Rashi decides to get Bani. Karuna calls Rano and asks her to come soon to the party to take care of Bani. Aditya and Tarun see the Press at the party. While Rano is on the way, she slips and falls down. Jigyasa feels good after inviting the press. Tarun makes invitees meet Bani who does not respond. The Press ask Rano questions about Bani. Rano blasts the press for coming there and tells them more about Bani's life. Jai Walia enters the party.

The Press asks questions to Jai Walia about Bani. Jai Walia announces in front of everyone that he is finishing his relationship with Bani and starting a new life. Tarun speaks to Jai Walia about his decision. Jai Walia tells Tarun, for him Bani is dead. And then hands divorce papers to Bani who faints. Sahil learns about Rano's accident. Karuna restrains Jai Walia and asks him to hang on and not react for Bani so soon. Bani is rushed to a hospital. Pia watches Jai Walia's statement about Bani on TV. Jigyasa comes in, congratulates Pia. She enquires if Pia is going to the hospital. Sahil is irritated with Rano and talks about it to Jigyasa. Rano also faints at the hospital, she undergoes a checkup. The doctor tells Rano, there are complications and that her child will not be a normal child, Sahil enters

Jai Walia reflects on his statements about Bani. He comes to the hospital. Sahil gets angry with Rano, tells her she is not concerned about their child. Sahil tells her, he is concerned about only about his child and not about Bani. And curses Bani if anything happens to his child. Jai Walia is at Bani's bedside and wants her to get well soon. Bani begins to show some kind of a movement after Krishna comes in her dream. The doctor comes in and is astonished to find out she is pregnant. Pia is at the hospital; she finds out that Bani is missing from the hospital and that she is pregnant. Bani walks down alone on a desolate street not believing she is pregnant, she wonders whether she should give birth to this child? She questions the values she would able to give the child and does not want the child to come in this world? Pia enters Bani's room, finds her medical papers and then burns them, as she does not want Jai Walia to find out about Bani's pregnancy. Jai Walia finds out Bani is missing from the hospital. There is gun kept on Bani's gunpoint. Bani faces her assailant, who tells her the police, is behind him and he is going to shoot her to save himself. Bani asks him why is the police behind him. The man tells her, he killed his wife, as she was unfaithful to him. Bani reflects on Jai Walia. The man tells her he did not know his wife was pregnant when he killed her. The police arrive and the man keeps Bani as hostage. Bani devises a plan with the man, they hide away in the dense underbrush. The police threaten to shoot, Bani tells the man she is also pregnant. Jai Walia arrives there, is concerned. The police fire a gunshot, Bani gets saved. The body is taken away; Jai Walia meets Bani who walks away. Everyone in the house is relieved to find out Bani is safe and healthy, Rano and Sahil come in. Rashi reassures Rano about Bani. The doctor decides to inform that Bani Walia is pregnant. Pia stops the doctor citing the trauma Bani is going through and assures him, she will take care of it. Jai Walia is thinking of Bani, Karuna meets him. She tells him, she is on his side and will tell everyone what Jai Walia did for Bani. Jai Walia wishes to meet Bani once. Pia receives Jai Walia's phone call, feels her dreams are coming true. Pia receives an invitation to a party.

Jigyasa advises Sahil to get the abnormal child aborted. Sahil does not agree with Jigyasa and holds Bani responsible. Rano prays to her parents, she receives an invitation card to the party. The press covers the party; Tarun announces this party is in honor of Rano's birthday and Bani joining the business. Bani wishes Rano, Pushkar comes in and wishes Rano. Pia comes in, Bani sees her. Jai Walia too enters the party, Karuna tells him to tell Bani the truth. Pia tells Bani, she knows Bani is pregnant and questions her on not informing Jai Walia of the same? She also tells Bani that Jai Walia loves her a lot, and that they met lot of times at Dubai and how they supposedly fell in love. Pia tells Bani they will adopt her child when they are planning for their child. Pia asks Bani if she is happy for her? Jai Walia comes to meet Bani who reflects on Pia words, Tarun comes and takes Bani away. When Jai Walia tries to speak to Mausi, she walks away and so do the other family members. Jai Walia meets the doctor who advises him not to meet Bani for next seven days. Jai Walia decides to wait and tell the truth to Bani. Tarun tells Bani to remove Jai Walia from her heart and not get affected by his presence. He advises Bani to become strong and start living for herself. Bani tells Tarun, I am with you.
