Chapter 4b
Everyone was settled in the living room of Shantivan as per Anjali's request and now everyone but one was curious to know why. 'Anjali betiya why have you call us down her for see everyone is here please tell us.' Dadi said quite impatiently. 'Hello hi bye bye yes Anjali please tells us'
'I have a surprise for everyone.' Now it was time for Akash to pitch in 'Di what surprise are you talking about' Anjali was about to tell them when the door bell rang.
Anjali was on her feet the next second and even beat HP to the door. 'Chote your home' she said pulling him into a bear hug. Once she pulled out of the hug she notice a bandage on his arm. 'Are chote what happened to your arm, are you okay.' That's when she noticed Khushi behind him. But what surprised Arnav was the sudden hostility that Anjali displayed towards her.'Di we are fine, where is everyone i said yesterday that i needed to talk to everyone about one thing important.' ' haan everyone is here you come on in.' She locked her arm in his and was about to walk towards the living room when Arnav moved her hand off him.
Khushi was surprised when Arnav took hold of one crutch and held her firmly around the waist as she stepped up into the house. She had also noticed the hostility in Anjali's look towards her but paid no heed as she was use to receiving them from dadi and her. When they got to the sofa Arnav sat Khushi next to Payal, who was going out of her way to make her comfortable. Khushi had observed the looks that everyone gave her most were of shock and sympathy all except one.
Shyam had know that Khushi had been hit with a bullet. Of course he would have knew it was his gun from which the bullet came from. If one would look closely they would have saw a sly smirk settle on his lips as he stared at Khushi. you thought you can run Khushi well now even that isn't possible and i will make sure that you and your family pay for what happened to me.
Arnav noticed this and decide that it was now or never. He glanced down at Khushi who nodded her head nudging him to continue. 'Bhai, Bhabhi please will one of you please tell us what happened' said Akash who was first to come out of shock. What then followed where a range of questions like 'what happened, who did this, how comes you are back early etc' to which no one got an answer too until, 'ENOUGH, i will tell you all but please calm down' once everyone had calm down, Arnav narrated exactly what had happened. 'when the got to the airport that this two men came up to them and asked Khushi to go along with them but I didn't allow it and after much insistence gave in and took both of us to a room and knocked us unconscious. When i woke up i was in some warehouse and couldn't see Khushi anywhere, and when the kidnapper came he told me that Khushi was in another room and much to our disappointment we weren't allowed to see each other. But since the time the kidnapper left i had a bad feeling Khushi was in trouble. I managed to get out of his chair and look around for a way out when i spotted an air vent high up on a wall. When i got there i saw Khushi lay on the floor' he left out the bit about the kidnappers trying to misbehave with her due to the kidnappers request 'after that the kidnappers agreed to let them be in the same room. On the third day there i got hand of the food bill from where our food was coming from and Khushi recognised the address immediately as it was the restaurant next to her favourite Jalebi shop. Since that day we planned to make an escape, we watched the patterns of the kidnappers and made an escape two days ago.'
Shyam was listening to what he said very carefully and made a mental note to pay the kidnappers well, because listening to this he gathered that they had done an exceptionally well job of keeping them locked up for days. Well they managed to kidnap the ASR aswell whereas i only wanted Khushi but don't worry Khushi ji no worries that you are save from them kidnappers but not even Arnav will save you from me.
Through out this time everyone sat quiet including Khushi. She had held Arnav's hand whilst he was telling everyone and could feel it shaking. There was one question that rose up in everyone's mind and and Shyam decided that he would ask expecting them not to know or suspect him. 'Saale Sahab, do you know who did this?' only Khushi understood how angry he was at that point because his grip on her hand had tightened to the extent that it hurt. She decide that she should now take over. 'you know exactly who I am talking about JIJA JI' 'are you implying that I was the one that did this?' 'that's exactly what she is implying' spoke the dreaded ASR. Shyam flinched but covered it up very effectively by a laugh an threw his hands in the air. 'typical, she said it and you believed it. Saale Sahab I warned you before and I am saying this again. this girl is after your destruction. She is brainwashing you'
'YOU' Arnav grabbed his neck and rammed him into the pillar behind. 'CHOTE..ARNAV..BHAI' everyone shouted Akash and Mama ji were trying to pull him back but it would work. Khushi knew arnav was extremely angry and would hVe no trouble in killing him but he couldn't do it that b*****d needs to pay for what he did and she knew exactly how to make Arnav let go and so she got up onto her injured leg. 'Haye Devi Mayyia' a shreck echoed and everyone looked towards Khushi who had stood up without her crutches instantly Arnav let go of Shyam and ran towards Khushi and helped her sit followed by an equally worried Payal and Akash 'what the hell are you doing dammit, doctor told you not to stand on your bad leg dammit'
But before Khushi could reply Anjali push Arnav out of the way and screamed at Khushi 'What have you done to my Chote haan, you may have got him to believe you but there is no way i am going to let you harm my family. How dare you blame my husband, how dare you' she pulled Khushi up off the sofa with great force that she stumbled and fell into Arnav. 'DI, what are you doing Jiji is hurt' 'Payal stay out of this' 'no she won't Bhabhi isn't lying neither is Bhai Di' Akash stood behind Payal and supported her like a husband should do. 'She brainwashed all three of you, she had recieved a restraining order from Shyam Ji for stalking him and now she wants revenge i know it. but i am not going to let you ruin my family, understand' khushi and arnav weren't as shocked as Payal and akash, they werent shocked because she knew, they were shocked that she thought that it was all Khushi's doings.
What furied arnav was that anjali was pointing a finger at khushi despite her being innocent and hecouldn't take it so yelled 'DI WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU' 'what is wrong with me?, what wrong with you chote, you are yelling at you Di for this girl, i knew she was bad when you first brought her, but i didn't say anything, then the other night Shyam Ji confirmed my doubt, she hasn't been here 6 months and you are believing her over us.' Di and her emotional blackmail Devi Mayyia help me make her understand. Turns out Devi Mayyia was on his side because dadi intervened.
Dadi had been sitting back listening to what was going on and decided it was time for her to intervene. 'ENOUGH, Anjali wait let me speak' Akash took Khushi from Arnav and helped he sit down and hugged her shoulder while Arnav stood directly infront of her blocking her from dadi's eyes. However dadi didn't get the hint she moved chotte aside and towered over her. 'Khushi do you have any proof that damad ji has done this' 'yes Khushi i want to see some proof' 'Anjali be quiet when i am talking' 'sorry dadi' 'so Khushi have you got any proof' 'Dadi...' Arnav tried to speak in but Dadi held up her hand. Khushi look up at dadi and saw that stern look she usually gives to her. 'Speak up Khushi have you any proof' after a minute of silence she spoke up. 'No i don't have any proof that he kidnapped us'.
SLAP.
'KHUSHI...DADI' Arnav and Akash shouted simultaneously. Akash who was sat beside Khushi stood up whilst Arnav came down to Khushi's level. A big red handprint was painted on Khushi's cheek and tears were pouring out of her eyes but still she didn't say anything to dadi. In the back shyam stood smirking. He couldn't be more happy. Say bye to your life Khushi because once you are out of this house i will make sure you and you family pay. They will suffer the same way mine did because of your Dadi.
'Dadi what are you doing, you can't do this to her at least let them explain' Akash tried to be polite to his dadi, if it weren't for mama ji's look and Payal's hold on his hand Akash would have yelled at her for hitting his Bhabhi. 'Maa ji, Akash is right at least let them explain why they suspect damad ji' Mami thought she could help calm her Mother In law down and help her see things rationally. However this had no affect on Dadi. 'let her explain, HA, what's she got to explain, shes a gold digger, bloody prostitute, who thinks she can sleep around and get money from the rich'
Arnav was boiling with rage, his hands curled into fists, eyes blood shot and jaw tight. 'SHUT UP JUST SHUT UP' startled by the sudden shout everyone looked at arnav and a shiver ran down there spine. they had only seen arnav this angry once. Arnav walked towards shyam and grabbed him by his collar 'Get the hell out of this house before i beat the crap out of you.' ' he isnt going anywhere chote he is staying right her with his wife understood' dadi pulled his hand of shyams collar.
This was getting way out of hand and Khushi thought it would be best to tell them more. So she did 'Shyam was up the one who shot me' silence surrounded her as she spoke that sentence. All eyes turned to her. 'Shes lying how could I have shot you i was in Mumbai two until yesterday.' 'Your lying you were in dehli you never left, in fact you where in that warehouse, i may have been blindfolded shyam but i recognised you voice that night before Arnav found me' all looked at shyam just as he recovered from the shock of this new information he recieved. ' i knew it was you at that moment when you instructed the kidnappers to...to' she sobbed at that instance Arnav was right beside her and held her one hand in his whilst Payal came to the other side of her. 'You told the kidnappers to rape me so much so that i wouldn't be able to move, had Arnav not have found me thats exactly what you would have done am i right? And that's not all is it, how many mistresses do you have haan, because i know your work doesn't require you to be on the move all the time' She looked at him, then she saw dadi advancing towards her.
'GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE RIGHT NOW, how dare you insult and accuse damad ji of such a thing' shouted Dadi. She handed her crutches to her and pulled her up. 'You are not staying in this house any longer get out' however Arnav stopped her 'Dadi, she isn't going anywhere, if Di can have her husband stay with her then Khushi is staying with me' Arnav was red with anger but before he could compete Anjali interrupted 'CHOTTE how can you speak like that she is your Dadi' 'Arnav leave it i will leave, its okay' Khushi said putting a crutch down and wrapping her free arm around his in a stance to calm him down. 'No Khushi we are leaving, if you go i go too.' Saying this he grabbed her hand and started towards the door carefull not to make Khushi fall. 'Fine, but chotte hear me once, she is not coming back into this house with you' shouted Anjali as she and the rest of the family followed to the door. Arnav and Khushi stopped in there tracks both shocked. Fresh tears made there way down Arnav's cheeks as they walked out of shantivan. Just before stepping out Arnav said
'Then i guess i am never coming back Anjali' and left without looking back.
