I don't know why people here are always so obsessed with Ash and PC's accents 😕

I think you don't get it..which is fine. My sister doesn't get why ppl are obsessed with Satrbucks. 😆 I don't get why Aish's giggles are annoying to most ppl because I think it's adorable. lol

I live in America and ppl use to make fun of my accent in high school and elementary school..but one thing I never lost is that I never tried to be "cool" to fit in with the Americans. I was always true to myself..was proud of my culture and accent. Sadly not a lot of ppl who grow up in America like PC are comfortable with their accent..and that's the vibe I get with PC..she's not comfortable being Indian in America. Trust me I have met a lot of Indians who try really hard to deny they are Indians just so they are not made fun of...which sad to me because you should love where you came from. At least you have a culture not a lot of Americans do.

I don't think there is anything wrong in sounding more American while in America if you can. It is hard to understand English dialects you are not familiar with. You may follow American English easily but you probably have watched a few American movies and TV shows and are familiar with it. I was born and have lived my entire life in America and have spent the last years in North Texas but still barely understand people from East Texas. As far as Brits go - I am fine with standard English but have trouble with Cockney or Northern English, etc. I turn on the subtitles for Scottish without even trying to follow without them (ever try to watch Trainspotting without subtitles?) There is a reason the English bits are still subtitled in Hindi films. Indian English can be very hard for Americans to follow. My mother in law spends half her time repeating things to white Americans! I have had friends not even realize she was speaking English. Frankly the way PC is speaking here is far easier for Americans to understand.

I don't really understand why PCs accent is such a sensitive issue for some. For instance she was harshly criticized for her TMK character living in England having a Western accent, but isn't that a far better acting job than characters supposedly born and raised in the west speaking as if they grew up in Delhi? She did spend some time here in high school right? I think it is normal for her to have "picked up" some accent while she was here. I drop some Texanisms naturally without thinking (or planning) just because I hear it around me even though I am not a native.

its not that- its about your individual identity

like if you put on an american accent for an american movie- its fine as its a movie but in interviews you gota be yourself

like kate winslet- a woman with british accent adopted american for titanic but when ever you hear her speak in interviews she always speaks in her natural british accent!

PC just sounds too fake here

I know the "power chick" part got me laughing..and she kept on repeating it..it was awesome to watch..got my laugh for the day 😆

And she mentions she can kick ass very well. Am sure Angelina Jolie wouldn't agree. 😆

this is truly unnecessary picking. Her accent is NOT FORCED. It comes out natural. its not 100% american but u can tell shes not making an effort to get the accent either. FFS she wwnt to high school in the states...give her some credit. Hate the song, btw, and she did seem phony.

Ash, on the other hand, sounds forced. the woman even stops in between her words to get it all right.
