Chapter 11 : The taxi-driver stopped at the address he was given. "Memsahib -ghar agaya" , he told to the lady in his back-seat. She paid him and thanked him, and proceeded to the front door of that house.
Jaggat was already late for work ; the stupid alarm-clock didn't buzz on time this morning! Knock -knock , somebody tapped their knuckles on his door. He opened it to get the happiest surprise ever. "Arsha Maasi !" , he called excitedly and hugged her.
"Ahh , so my nephew DOES remember me!" , she said sarcastically. " Aww , come on Massi , U know how busy a police-man is. One investigation ends and another begins. I would've visited if I could!" "Aarghh , WOULD'VE , COULD'VE ... I don't like those words. Family is important - YOU HAVE TO MAKE TIME FOR FAMILY!" , she announced with authority .
She plopped herself on the sofa : "I hope u don't mind , but your OLD Aunty needs a small nap!" She started to get into a sleeping position on the couch. "Maasi , u are NOT OLD , now please don't embarrass me - PLEASE TAKE THE BED-ROOM upstairs". He carried her bag and she followed him to the room.
"U know Jaggat , from the time I became a nurse - this is the first proper holiday I got". Jaggat smiled at her , she was the only relative he had from his mother's side. "Maasi , u make yourself at home . Call me if you need anything".
He started to place his gun in it's holster and Arsha Maasi got a fright. "I really don't know what possessed u to become a cop!" "Maasi , can we do the lecture later ... I'm really late for work" , he kissed her forehead and left.
"Maybe 1 day , u can find those bast**ds that ... " , she started wondering.

Jaggat was drumming his fingers on his desk. Uday was being stubborn, he still went out at night alone. Jaggat was sure the killer would not stop until he finished Uday.
But why??? Why Akash, Sameer, Aryan and Uday? What connection did they have with the killer? Oh god!!! Something HUGE must have happened to cause these incidents. But what was it?
Um! When did they become friends? High school? Nope , after that! Since then, they were together as friends, till each one got cut from that gang; by death.
Got to do some digging. I need to visit THEIR college!

Seated in the Dean's room, Jaggat waited for her. He was glad Mrs Mehra had agreed to see him to answer his questions.
"sorry Inspector, to keep you waiting, there was a small fight in the college canteen which needed to be sorted"
J : It is ok mrs Mehra
MM : so how can I help you ?
J: I just wanted to know , I mean like a background check on these students who studied here some 18 years ago
He handed her a list of names. She glanced at the names and asked: Mr jaggat, Udayveer and others are great benefactress of this college. Actually the death of the other 3 are still shocking to us. I am sorry I don't think I can help you in this case. Good day mr jaggat ( she tried to dismiss him quickly)
J: mrs mehra, let me make my point clear, the police department doubts that Aryan's and Sameer's deaths were accidental, we feel they were killed by the same person who killed Akash. So I feel that Mr Uday Singh would be the next person whom the killer may go behind, so would you shed some light about their college days, because then we could get a clue about who wanted them "OUT OF THE PICTURE"
MM: Oh ! I never knew so. 18 years back, I was the assistant professor associated with the commerce department. Those four were the "rowdies" of this college. They had enough money to do ANYTHING ; even some to burn away.
J: would you mind if I record the conversation, it would be useful for me later
M: sure, I am glad to help
Mrs mehra, started to tell Jaggat all that she knew about the 4. It was after an hour and a half Jaggat left the office, smiling, he was right, it was the skeletons from their college days that was haunting them now.

Flashback :
"achooo" sneezed Manyata, she tried to do it softly as she was aware that she was not alone in the room. The sun had risen. She looked at the sleeping figure of Uday , what a magical night it was for her. She had given up her most precious asset to him, she knew, he too loved her the same way as she did and so she did not regret what happened last night
"achoo" , again she sneezed. "Maybe she should not have played in the rain last night!", she thought.
Her sneezing disturbed Uday and he said: " Just shut the f**k up, will you,Janet ; I'm trying to sleep"
M : What!!! Janet? (Doubts began to form in her mind. And she decided to wake him up) ... "Uday? Wake up "
U : What is it now Susan? (he was still half asleep).
Manyta got really irritated and poured the glass of water kept on the bedside on his face. Uday got up, highly irritated : "What the hell , Manyata?"
M : so you remember my name, do you?
U : um!! Why should I NOT remember, come here baby, I want u some more!
M : Who's Janet and Susan?
U : what?!
M : I think u heard me ALREADY.
U : oh they are the girls whom I was last with, baby! (he added frankly)
M : what!!! So you WERE cheating me, with your sweet talks.
U : oh, baby , just understand this. I just got what I wanted. You were this village girl, totally innocent and cute, just minus your oily hair and your cheap taste of clothes. It was something I did not try yet, so I came behind you, started to seduce you and last night I got what I wanted,(smirking) in between , you were so good, not bad for a virgin. (winks). I better get going now.
M : Uday , you cheat!! , ( tears started forming in her eyes)
U : stop those tears, will you? I have no time for all these stupid emotional nonsense!
Uday dressed up and left the room without a backward glance. Manyta sat on her bed sobbing for the great mistake of her life.

Arthi knew what she was doing was totally unorthodox ... she was following her husband. His recent behavior and actions were not his usual self, he was distracted and forgetful. He was lying to her. She needed to get to the bottom of this today.
She followed Uday's car, keeping a car's distance between them. They passed Uday's office.
So she was right!!! He did not go to his office, "but then where does he go the whole day? "
She followed him till he stopped outside a florist shop. "What is he doing here?"
She switched off the engine and waited for him to make a move, but he did not. He just sat there in his car. She waited for about 2 hours, but he just sat in his car. Finally after 2 hours or so, he left the place and headed to his office.
What is wrong with Uday?, she wondered . "what was he doing there?" A lot of unanswered questions, she thought. Who could she share these thing with? Jaggat? , she wondered ...

"Sshhh" - Maya silenced Veer ... "You are giving me a head-ache!" , she held her forehead.
Veer : U know if that nurse recognised you ... we both would be behind bars right now!
M : Well - she DIDN'T ! It was dark and I ducked my face in time!
V : U got lucky!!!!!!!
She rolled her eyes without giving him a reply. "What was the need to see him in the first place? ", Veer growled. " I didn't go to see him , how was I to know he'd be at the eatery? " , she defended.
"U are becoming very careless" , Veer scolded, as if he was the elder ... "So are u going tomorrow? "
Maya : I might !, do u want to come along?
V : Sure ! why the hell NOT , let's go for Akash's funeral! (he grinned).
