As an educated person, I agree with everything Rani said and am also proud of her and Karan Johar.

Its simply sexism when women are put up against different standards than men.

Even after watching KANK, everyone was bashing Rani more than SRK. Why? Its ok for a man and not a woman?

Go jaan. And don't listen to people with no socio-political understanding. My respect for her has tripled.

P.S. She is in no way supporting cheating or having affairs. Don't take her out of context and make it into something else.

I think what Rani is implying is the fact the men and women are treated differently on the views of an extra marital affair. Men are hardly bad mouthed when they have one, they still go like nothing is wrong but when the woman has one she is the worst person on earth! It isn't fair.

I am not condoning marital affairs, but what Rani said was right.

When KANK opened, Rani was bashed for being so cold towards Abhishek but wasn't SRK the same, he too had an affair, he too hurt people. Why is it okay for a man to have an affair, but not a woman? Why should women continually be bashed, but men are still held in high respect?

ETA: It has not been proven that Rani is or has broken up any marraiges, so far they've all been rumours. She shouldn't be bashed for something that has yet to be proven! I admire her point of view and I agree with her wholeheartedly!

It is unfortunate that many Indian women happily go about living a passionless marriage flaunting the gifts, sarees, jewellery they may get every small / big occasion and festival. Not being emotionally satisfied makes any marriage dull. Sacrifices made for children are very welcome, yet not accepting that one's marriage is in trouble is nothing but ignorance. This ignorance is so profound that most indian couples do not work on their marriages, yet live on as a written committment.. They may not walk out of the marital bond, but begin promiscuous behaviour. If that is what IDEAL behaviour, then I am glad I am not a saloni / bani - wannabe. It is good to be real and it is good to be a strong woman capable of making right choices, which NEED NOT BE sacrificial all the time!!

This just reflects that you don't understand what Rani meant. Like I said, don't take her out of context. She's not defending extra-marital affairs; she is speaking about how men and women are treated differently in our society.
