taarey os : mine

taani smiled at him as he walked past her. of course as usual he would smile back at her and as usual she would inwardly die. she opened her locker which she held for support andlooked into the small miror she kept in there. she saw a socially awkward, slightly geeky girl with alot of desires hidden behind those thick glasses of hers. her cheekswere pink with the aftermath of his smile. reyansh singhania was the most handsome guy in college, so it was plenty normal for any girl to go weak in her knees when he is around. but it wasnt normal for her to fall for him. a few weeks ago she would have thought it was impossible fall for your childhod friend but she did!

he might be reyansh to everybody else, the cool dude of the college. but to her he was just that weak and meakley boy w.yes he had undergone a transformation ..i mean a metamorphisis and he was now a hunk but she still saw the boy thatcared for her and stood by her. now they had grown apart. they developed seperate interests and thought taani never once thought it would affect her this much it did. and that disturbed her. she didnt know how rey felt but she didnt want to know what you dont know cannothurt you. techincaly rey was out of her league and she was tooafraidof rejection to take that firststep so this is the result of weeks of bottling up your feelings ...just alot of sleepless nights whichresult in dark circles. great! and just before the sadie hawkins dance.

the sadie hawkins dance. the dance which involuntarly gets every girl in the school runing on high blod pressure tablets. a girl is suposed to ask the guys out notthe other way around. she wasnt sure what to do or who she should. normally she would ask rey but...rey is the best option . myabe she coud ask him out as just frends. he wont say no then. excitedly she made her way down the hall with a smile on her face and finally some hope in her heart. maybe just maybe..

she stopped in her tracks when she saw what she saw. oh no! not that chipku tanya! tanya the girl who was very open about here attraction to rey. taani was sick to her stomach as shesaw her sliding her index finger down his broad chest . she didnt know why but she started feeling an emotion she never felt before. jealousy.

"okay so pick me up at 7 for the dance"

to her utter shock and disgust she realized that tanya had asked rey out for the dance and the worst part was that he agreed.taani felt her chest tigten. another new feeling. heartbreak.

"taani..hi.."

rey had seen her standing there. tani felt her cheek become pink again. this time in embarresment.tanya smirked at her, maybe she wasnt that supid after all.

"did you need something?"

taani felt the sudden urgeto commit a crime but she decided that she wouldnt let rey know that he affectedher so much. she way too angry to give him that pleasure.

"yes but from vivek.."

one look at the extremely sweet guys he almost felt guilty about what she was about to do..almost.

"vivek..would you accompany me to the sadie hawkins dance."

" YES!! mean yes sure.."

tanni was taken back by his reaction as was tanya which was clearly visble. rey's reaction was undescernable.it hurt even more

"i will meet you there.."

saying so she walked away because the pain was just too much to contain.her vision blurred due to the salty liquid which shrouded her eyes but she kept going till she reached home. there and then she decided that she will show rey what he was missing.

at the dance

the school auditorium was draped in blue streamers which shimmered in the light of the magnificent disco ball which graced the ceiling.for once in didnt smell like socks left there to dry overnight. instead it smelledlike lilies and roses which wereadorned around the walls and covered evertnook and cranny of the auditorium. in short it was a feast for the eyes. rey was already there dressed in his best black suit accompanied by a tasteful tie. every girl's eyes were on him but his eyes were scanningthe room forsomeone else. not tanya. tanya was already there sporting a short cocktail dress which left little to the imagination. he spotted a crowd gasping..he edged loser to them to see what the commotion was about.

he couldnt beleive his eyes when he saw what he saw. it was an angel. no it was a girl who resembled an angel. it was his taani. she wore an elegant white gown which huged her curves . it was decent enough to make her look graceful and sexy enough to make her look desirble, her makeup gave a mysterious look to her. her glasses were gone and replaced by a bautiful yet unseen set of eyes which matched his own. he found herself in awe of her. he knew she was pretty but he didnt know she was hot and by the looks of it, neither did the crowd. vivek englufed his hand with hers and made their way to the dancefloor which made rey burn inside. he couldnt take it years of bottling up his feelings led to taani finding comfortin anothermansarms. he should have told her when he got the chance. but he didnt. instead he hung around with tanya to make her jealous. but looking at taani so close to someone else made him realize that he failed miserable. his eyes became boodshot with envy and with this new found anger he fueled his resolve to win her back no matter what . he was reyansh singhania.

he walked to the dj and whispered something to him.he walked towards taani.

" may i have this dance."

taani was considering when soon she realized it wasnt a question but a statement. he pulled her towards him by her waist while she could only stand there awestruck. suddenly the upbeat music changed into something slow and beautiful.

rey and taanidanced in each other arms like there wasno tomorrow, they found comfort in each other andhome intheir eyes. taani felt he body tighten as she felt hisnext to her. he brought is nose close to her and exhaled in her scent. the look he gave her made her shiver. the sheer closeness between them made it difficultfor her to breathe. while they were dancing rey said something which she couldnthear. she shookher head indicating that she cant hear him because of the music. she could see him make an effort to speak louder but she still could not hear him. finally she saw him exhaling as if he was about to say something when the music stopped but it was too late.

"I LOVE YOU TAANI!!!"

everyone turned their heads to stare at her. taani was too shocked to react but whenshedidshe ran out of the auditorium. rey just stood there unable to move. vivek moved up to him .'

" go after her."

at first the words shocked him but soon he smiled at him and went after her.

she was storming out of the building when she heard rey calling out to her . she quickened her pace. soon rey caught up to her and pulled her by her elbow.

" what rey!"

"whats wrong with you aani..whyare you so angry?"

"because if you dont love me then why did you say it!"

"what do you mean i dont love you?'

"love is not attached to clothes..what happens when tomrow i returnto my geeky self?will you leave me?"

rey pulled a peice of paper from his pocket.

"read this.."

"what is it?"

"just please.."

taani unfolded the paper. it looked like it had been opened and folded back a number of times. the color of the paper clearly showed that it was written a couple of years ago.

taanis eyes filled up again this time in happiness. she looked at rey in disbelief.

" why didnt you give it to me before.."

"because i was scared..i wasnt exactly the most handsome guy then..i have been carrying it around ever since but i never got the courage to give it t you."

rey had hardly finished his sentence when taani pounced on him and engulfed his lips in her hers. rey responded back with the same amount of urgency. he always dreamt of this moment but never knew it would happen like his . when rey realized she was out of breath he let her go but still they didnt seperate completely as taani layed her forhead on him . rey held her hand as both were trying to recover their breath. nothing else mattered other than the smile on their face and he love in their eyes. rey was right. love does find its way.
