Ram not going to Gurukul ?? In house Teacher ?? Ehhh..

So Mahadev after training Ram in archery..will take him to Sita's swayambar.. himself..!!

Indra has been associated with the Vajra since the earlies times. Rig Veda mentions this several times. So if we go by the account that Indra required the Vajra to kill Vritra and then went for prayaschit- during which Nahusha became the king,- then this should have surely happened before Treta Yuga.

But there is a problem here. If we assume that Yayati ascended the throne after his father was cursed, this too should have happened before the Treta Yuga. In which case how long did Yayati rule? Before being cursed by Shukracharya and after his exchange deal with Puru?

Actually, there is no overlap b/w the versions that have Nahusha marrying Asokasundari, and the versions that have him go after Sachi.

So if Indra killed Vritra in the Satya Yuga, which is most likely - probably in the time frame b/w Sati's death & Parvati's birth, then that would be the time that Nahusha would be ruling on earth - in his kingdom of Pratishthana (today's Prayag). When Indra abdicated, Nahusha would have taken over Devalok, and handed over Pratishthana to Yayati. So Nahusha would have ruled Devalok at the same time that Yayati, and a few of his descendants ruled Pratishthana.

Now, in Devalok, the time scale would have been different, and so Yayati may have ruled, and then his descendants would have ruled throughout the Treta & Dwapar Yugas. In the Satya Yuga itself, or somewhere in the Treta Yuga, Nahusha might have become a snake, and Indra would have gotten back his throne.

Note that the above chain of events doesn't allow for Nahusha to be a boy even when Parvati is born - much less be much younger to Asokasundari. Which is why I have always strongly suspected that the Nahusha who married Asokasundari was NOT the Nahusha who stalked Sachi or held Bhima in his coils 😆

Vrish - Correct.

So if it is indeed Treta Yuga, then Nahusha should have already assumed his serpentine form and be languishing on Earth. Indra would have regained the kingship.

I wonder if the CVs are going to botch up this too?

- Mahadev starts giving a lecture of benefits of girl child. Question - why give this lecture when Janak obtained Sita??? It does not apply to him in any way whatsoever.

- Parvati asks Mahadev as to why he doesn't stop Ravan *facepalm*. Seriously, are Mahadev AND Parvati trying their level best to ensure the redundancy of Ram avatar? If it's not Mahadev popping up everywhere (trying his level best to change the course of certain events), here we actually see Adishakti asking such questions to Mahadev. Does she keep forgetting that her own brother (Vishnu) has incarnated as Ram to kill Ravan?? And by asking such questions, doesn't she realize that she is giving even more ammo to Mahadev to work "niyati ke viruddh"? Then again, for someone who broke "Prakriti ke niyam" to ensure that her SIL-to-be marries quickly, anything is fair game, I suppose. Even working "niyati ke viruddh".

Why can't they simply show Mahadev taking the form of all the characters - including Sita? If the ONLY aim of the DKDM Ramayan track is to give Mahadev as much credit as possible (to the extent of concocting fictional scenes and twisting existing stories so as to suit Mahadev), surely it's NOT that difficult to show Mahadev taking the form of all the characters, and thereby, turn Ramayan to Shivayan (Shiva's one-man show).

If Mahadev is training Ram in archery, were Vishwamitra, Vashishtha, and all the other rishis frying eggs or something in Treta yuga???
