All shows/serial runs on writers vision and it is this vision that draws the crowd to the idiot box..but what happens if the writers do not know how to move forward with all the characters created...either the characters end up lifeless after their birth or handicapped. This has happened to the twin show of our borrowed name with different star cast. One of the main lead has walked out of the show simply because the writers were short of ideas and didn't know what to do with that main character. Hope you have got my point.

What makes it sad for the writers in this entertainment world is that their ideas run/sell on trp basis /weekly basis and accordingly they should have the talent to recolor the ideas to be in the ratrace of trps...but then every writer who have set their foot in this industry knows pretty well the game and the risk involved... then who are to be blamed?

Pvian writers...u all are lucky with no pointing gun of trps but then our comments sound like trps😃 Right?

I think it was bound to happen since that replacement story was not well prepared but hurriedly written just to have a follow up for PV1's abrupt ending..

Now, i have this feeling that it was only created by the channel to save face but with negative impact😳

@Chitsri, well yes. The moment someone forces a writer to write in a certain way their creativity takes a downward slide. It started happening from the moment they saw a dip in the TRPs post digitization, right around the time of the BMT track. Since then until now, I don't think the writers have been able to get out of the pressure the channel put them under with their demands. For any writer that must be one of the worst things that happens.

I remember I read an article by Kinshuk, an actor who played the lead role in Afsar Bitiya which ended after PV started. He said their show was doing pretty well by the three month mark and the story was right on track just as the PH/writers had envisioned it. Then the channel came swooping down on them and demanded that even though their TRPs were good they have to now up the ante and start producing stuff to hike up the TRPs even further. And there goes all their planned story out of the window because that was no longer considered good enough to get higher ratings. And since then their show started spiraling downwards.

Here is an article I recently read. Here the head of a production house, in the second half of the interview, talks about writing for TV shows. It is interesting.

In the interview he says, earlier when he used to write he faced zero interference from the channel but now things have changed and nobody seems to want to fix the issues which leads to mediocre product being sold to the viewers.

Angake...appreciate for sharing your views as well as an interview of Akash Khurana. My God...couldn't believe after seeing his photo that this man is AK..a highly talented actor with an expression that cannot be matched even by few famous Bollywood actors. Wow! what a career graph! Love this chota packet with bada dimaag.

Angake...the only solution which I can see is this - According to AK , a script should be written, rewritten, tested, approved- and then- shot. Every maker knows the minimum episodes he has been allotted. Keeping that in mind, the story block (beginning-middle-end) should be readied. Unless and until it is ready, shooting must not start.

This thought is excellent but to implement is difficult in India...unless and untill...if few bada dimaags and business men come together to put sense in to the Channel wala and more important meeting the demands of viewers.

Thanks ANGAKE for responding and highlighting it.🤗

completely agree with u chitra on this...

its because of the interference of the channels for trp demands...the story gets ruined completely...

the writers try their best to bring in good stuff...but until and unless channel approves it..they cannot do anything..

god...when will this channel rule get over in our country?

Charmi...the problem started when too many channels were born alongwith stiff competition...and so to be in the ratrace...channels were left with this option...for the results we see today. I remember Yamuna said few months back regarding restricted episodes ( the one Amitabh Bachhan is going to do in Sony TV - 20 episodes)...if any project that restricts the episodes say 2-3 months...I think...the Channel can breathe without too much interference...but again Indians love '1000' episodes project...lets see..Long back Sharukh Khan said...he is interested to introduce such projects in India...but yet to see the light...anyway Charmi...thanks dear for response and sharing ur views.🤗
