Hi guys,
I don't know how many of you also watch Diya Aur Baati Hum, but if you do then you would already have noticed this! I thought it was very funny and decided to share this here for those of you who don't watch DABH. š
In the DABH episode of Friday 12 July 2013, Sandhya went to her devrani Meenakshi's sari shop and told her she wanted a new sari and that price was not an issue. So Meenakshi took out several expensive saris to show Sandhya and started telling her how wonderful they were and how lovely they would look on her, and that famous people wore ones just like them. For one of the saris, she told her that Aishwarya Rai has worn some just like it in her movies. And for another one, she said what sounded to me like... wait for it... Urmila Shah had worn ones like it and had done lots of big things! š¤£ I laughed so hard when I heard that!
DABH is set in Rajasthan and they do add "sa" to the ends of people's names as a sign of respect, so it is possible that she actually said "Urmila-sa" and I misunderstood and took it as "Urmila Shah". (There is an actress named Urmila Sharma who works in DABH and was also recently seen in the movie Raanjhanaa playing the mother of Dhanush's character, so perhaps they were referring to her.)
Whatever the case, I was reminded of SNS's Urmila Shah and her "big deeds"! š
