Just want to add to whats been said here .. Ramayan's events were guided by a series of curses ..

Ravan's side :
1) Got a curse from Vedavati that she will re-incarnate and be a cause for his doom
2)A curse from Nal-Kuber son of Kuber that if Ravan touches a woman inappropriately/against her wish, his head will be blown to a thousand pieces ..this after he made advances towards Rambha, daughter-in-law of Kuber
3)Shraap from a purvaj of Rama that Ravan will be killed by a ruler from the Ikshvaku-Suryavansha clan
4)Shraap from Nandi that he will be defeated by monkeys

Vishnu's side:
1)Curse from Narad that Vishnu will have to take help from monkeys in his next birth
2)Curse from Shukracharya's father that Vishnu will be separated from his wife in future .. Shukra's mother had given refuge to asuras who were pursued by Vishnu ..she didnt allow Vishnu to pursue the asuras inside the ashram ..so vishnu used the chakra on her.
3)Curse from Vrinda/Tulsi that an impostor will trick his wife ..just like Vishnu tricked her

Dashrath's side:
1)Curse from Shravan's parents that he will be separated from his most loved son.

Jay-Vijay side :
1)Cursed by sanak brothers that they will have to re-incarnate as humans and Vishnu gave them a choice to be separated from him as demons for 3 births or as his devotees for 7 generations. They chose the first option.

And thanks to fellow member Kal El for pointing out that As per the Shiva Purana, Vishnu had two assistants who helped him in his scheme against Vrinda. She cursed him that those two would one day separate him from his wife.

It is believed that they were reborn as Ravan and Maricha. Also in Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas, Ravan is the reincarnation of King Pratapbhanu who was cursed to become a rakshasa and torment rishis.

Too many curses ..one great story 😊

Good post 😊.
Curse & boon shows the unchangable events of Destiny. To materialise these main events, a series of other events is created, ulitimately resulting in the final one, which connects, affects many lives.

Narad actually wants to become a sansari at some point ..get married ..start a family etc . So Vishnu to rid Narad of family desires creates an elaborate hoax. A beautiful princess - Vishwa Mohini/ Mohini organises an elaborate swayamwar to marry the man of her dreams . Narad wishes to participate and asks Vishnu to give him the face of "Hari" .. Hari in sanskrit also has a meaning of monkey .. So Narad goes to swayamwar with the face of a monkey and body of a man .. he is humiliated there. Meanwhile Vishnu arrives there and the princess puts her varmala across Vishnu's neck ..then Narad realises this is Vishnu's maya and curses Narayan that he will have to take the help of the same monkey clan which has been ridiculed at the swayamwar ..

A more elaborate story is given here. Heres the link --

For Ramayan,

Don't use Shiva Purana for reference for Ramayan.

And DKDM's Mahadev keeps popping up everywhere, thinking that he will be able to stop these events from happening through his intervention...and that is what frustrates me the most about THIS particular Ramayan. Agar niyati ke viruddh koi nahin jaa sakta, then that includes Mahadev too. Mahadev was about to kill Ravan after the Vedavati self-immolation. Well done CVs for trying their level best to change the Ramayan itself. Then, what would've been the purpose of Ram avatar? *facepalm*

Seriously, do the CVs know that Vishnu incarnating as the son of Dasharath & Kaushalya was part of a larger scheme of things (wherein he had previously incarnated as Vaman, the son of Aditi & Kashyap, and in the next birth as Krishna, the son of Devaki & Vasudev)?

This Mahadev-centric one-track approach to Ramayan is what is completely spoiling the narrative of the story IMHO.

Yesterday only when we were watching DKDM and Dashrath episode I told my niece that actually curses were as important as boons to give a story a move forward, curses played a major role in bringing out the twists in stories so that life could move forward

all these great people great rishis, kings, devs couldn't refrain from making mistakes due to which they got punished and cursed and it effected other people so much that these curses became the climax in each story.

Similarly, boon were given but later easily it turned into curses due to which vishnuji and shivji had to kill asurs

Reality and lesson for us that Good is established by Evil and without evil there is no life
therefore, evil-good curse and boon positive negative all go side by side and each is recognized by the presence of other

but wonders of all wonders is that the stories are so unique and mystical that even today nobody can write such stories.

And it all really did happen in Bharatvarsh WOW 😆👏

This attempt of doing something very different by the makers is not liked by many. This is the beginning, let's see what happens in this entire track. This tracks gaurantees to show Mahadev influencing some important events, either directly, in disguise or as Hanumanji.
The monthly trp system has given them a chance to experiment for a month compared to the weekly one.
