DOTW- How different a bahu is Vidya?

Divya said that her main reason to take up Dulhann was that she wasn't the typical bahu. To what extent do you think that is true? Vidya is the all perfect type bahu i.e. not lying, believer in God and so on. So is she really "different"?

I think so. Mainly because she doesn't go round trying to solve problems on her own, she isnt interfering and as of now she isn't the bahu who is trying to keep the family together. How can she anyway? The negatives totally outweigh her goodness in the house. Unlike many bahus we've seen, Vidya puts her husband at the top. I get so fed up when I see wives hiding things from their husband for the good of the family..blah blah. I hope Vidya doesn't turn out like that. Finally, she speaks much less than most bahus do ...but thats a change I want to see.😊

What do you guys think? Is she hatke in anyway?

personally i didnt think her role was any different to the other bahu's etc...but after the few points u made, yeh she may be a bit different but not that much...she still remains a typical bahu, maybe not in the sense of going around sorting out problems and that but she still is a typical bahu in other ways... its hard to explain how really, but she is...

I think she takes too much from the villains as well, I guess because of her illitracy she can never really fight back i.e. the whole "mad" kid lecture from Sindoora! 😡

But then again she is all goody goody like the bahus are. The general basis is the same but there are slight differences.

vidya is different from the other bahus mainly cos she is illiterate. her helplessness & innocence are more emphasised that way. she minds her own business & doesn't snoop around anywhere. if she was educated that might be a typical bahu snooping around situation.

but other than the literacy issue, i think vidya is the perfect typical aadarsh bahu that everyone loves yet hates at the same time. she's a bit too goody sometimes yaar. aren't all these bahus at one point or another?😆😆😆

I think she's different but then the same....

SHe doesn't try to solve everybody's problems and doesn't interfere in everything..... but then again, she's doing the whole sacrificing bit ! She lied for Sagar's happiness, which in the end didn't result in his happiness. She's not bold or brave enough like most bahus, and doesn't stick up for herself.... but Vidya has true love for Sagar and doesn't do the whole thing of pretending to be angry and do horrible things for the "good" of the husband, which is wonderful ! So thank God Vidya doesn't do that....

But a lot of the things about her are different, I just wish she would be more bold 😊
