I also think part of the problem is Kumud and her family.1. Kumud thinks she can handle everything herself and informs her family of her decisions only after events have taken shape. She did this when Sara first refused her via a letter and again over the phone when he called to cancel the wedding. All she had to do is run downstairs put the phone and speaker and get him to talk to the entire family and make it a joint decision.2. Kumud's father VC is another will o' wisp. First he never informs his daughter Kumud that Saras's mom had committed suicide. Then he totally forgets that Saras had saved him from being burnt alive! And finally he is totally oblivious that his friend LN is a turncoat and Gooman ka ghulam!
I agree, Kumud kept a lot to herself. I feel like she wanted to protect her family from further heartbreak by dealing with it herself which was a mistake.
Yes, VC should have informed his daughter about Saras' history that would have made sense. Not to mention Saras saved his family from dishonor by taking the rap for Yash's crime too.
Perhaps both of these things are going to be chalked up to fate, apart from Guman's ceaseless interfering in their lives. She wouldn't leave until he left, then she issued her venom on everyone. Most of them deserve some blame. Even Kumari didn't confide in her mother so she left herself open to this disaster. But I feel Guman really took advantage of the situation. No argument with what you have written.
