JAR, only to be back in its 2nd season

Johny Lever had rocked the big screen for years and when he made his entry into the world of television, people felt that the case would be same on the tube as well. But the show couldn't garner the TRPs as expected. A lot of innovations haven't helped much either. So the channel is taking it off air and will bring it back again after a proper revamp. The Johny team however says, "Our first segment is over. We are coming back in 2007," said producer Aakashdeep when contacted.

But wasn't there a rumour that the show is going off air because of its dipping TRPs! "No, its absolutely wrong," defends Akashdeep. "Johny Aala Re is not like your regular shows where different people come and perform stand ups. It is an one man army. We need to create a good bank of scripts. And so, we are taking a break so that we can work on more scripts." (Sampurn)
