Former Miss World Yukta Mookhey has filed a police complaint, accusing her husband Prince Tuli of dowry demands, physical abuse and unnatural sex.
The complaint was filed by former actress at Amboli Police Station on Thursday. In her complaint Mookhey has reportedly alleged that she has suffered physical and mental abuse at the hands of her husband Prince Tuli, apart from facing harassment for dowry demands.
"In her complaint, Ms Mookhey alleged she had often been beaten up and troubled by her husband Prince Tuli," a police officer from Amboli Station is quoted as saying.
Reports say Yukta Mookhey's husband, a businessman with interests in hotels, logistics and malls, has been booked for dowry harassment (section 498 of Indian Penal code) and unnatural sex (section 377). Police will also question Mookhey's in-laws to look into the allegations of dowry demand.
Yukta Mookhey was crowned Miss World in 1999. She began working in films from 2001 but never really got a toehold in Bollywood. She quit acting after her marriage to Prince Tuli.
Mookhey had filed a complaint against her husband in July last year too. But it was a non-cognizable offense for which the police needs direction from the court to file an FIR.
This time, the FIR has been filed and the police are investigating Yukta's allegations. No arrest has been made so far.
