Radha-Krishna love was / is a benchmark.
- One interpretation is that Krishna enraptured the world, and Radha enraptured Krishna i.e.
drives Krishna with her love. She is his heart and soul
>>> Analogy #1 for SC: Saras guilt / remorse / love / need to make amends plus his love for kumud will now drive him all his life.
But
- it never got the sanctity of / culminated in marriage even in the society they lived in and despite the greatness of Krishna.
- once Krishna left and their jodi broke, it never united physically ..even though Krishna went on to marry others.
>>> Analogy #2 for SC: IF SLB remains true to the original novel, these two will never marry in a physical union DESPITE the all - powerful Analogy #1
My belief is that as the story progresses, kumud will be a combination of Radha & Meera.
Refer the fantastic bhajan by Lata Mangeshkar:
Ek radha, ek meera
Dono ne shyam ko chaha
Antar kya dono ki chah me bolo
Ik prem deewani, ik daras deewani
Ek radha, ek meera ...
Radha ne madhuban me dhundha
Meera ne man mein paya
Radha jise kho baithi
Wo govind aur daras dikhaya
Ek murali ek payal, ek pagali, ek ghayal
Antar kya dono ki prit me bolo
Ek suurat lubhani, ek murat lubhani
Ik prem deewani, ik daras deewani ...
Meera ke prabhu giridhar nagar
Radha ke manamohan
Radha din shringar kare
Aur meera ban gayi jogan
Ek rani ek dasi, dono hari prem ki pyasi
Antar kya dono ki tripti me bolo
Ek jeet na maani, ek haar na maani
Ik prem deewani
Ik daras deewani ...
