Salaam-e-Ishq: Couple trouble!
'Salaam-e-Ishq' is Nikhil Advani's second directorial venture, after his blockbuster flick 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' (2003) starring Shahrukh, Priety and Saif.
One of the most awaited movies of 2007, the movie already has high expectations from the audiences, all thanks to its high profile star cast and catchy music.
The movie's story is woven by the romantic tales of six couples, all from different walks of life, facing love-related dilemmas. They are ignorant about each other's existence, but end up being brought together by destiny, fate and love.
The couples comprise of Salman Khan-Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham-Vidya Balan, Anil Kapoor-Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna-Ayesha Takia, Govinda-Shannon Esra and finally Sohail Khan-Isha Koppikar.
Kkamini (Priyanka Chopra) plays the most sought after item girl in Bollywood but longs for that one 'lead heroine' role.
She has a plan to make her wish come true, until Rahul (Salman Khan) comes into the picture. Salman and Priyanka share good screen chemistry and considering their individual popularity, this couple is undoubtedly the 'most popular' pair of the movie.
Tehzeeb (Vidya) and Ashutosh (John) are happily married media professionals, crazy about each other.
But the true test of love is yet to come their way…Other than looking exceptionally stunning onscreen, John and Vidya's alleged off-screen link up makes them the 'most talked about' couple of the movie.
Vinay Malhotra (Anil Kapoor) is a complete family man. A loving husband to Seema (Juhi Chawla) and a doting father to their daughters, his life is dedicated to his 'work' and 'family', until he meets Anjali (Anjana), who's dedicated to win him! Anil and Juhi being 'true actors', this seems to be the 'most promising' couple of the lot.
Shiven (Akshay Khanna) is an eligible bachelor and loves his freedom, until he gets engaged to Gia (Ayesha Takia). He wants his freedom back and manages to get it too but at the cost of losing Gia, only to regret later and wants her back! Akshay Khanna and Ayesha Takia are back together after 'Shaadi Se Pehle'. Akshay's clever acting and Ayesha's girl-next-door charm makes them the 'most real' couple
Raju taxiwalla (Govinda) loves his job as a cab driver and loves to dream. He dreams of meeting a beautiful blonde girl and settling down with her…and even meets Stephanie (Shannon Esra), a phirang.
But unfortunately Stephanie, is already committed…Govinda's comic timing and his 'miscommunication' with Shannon makes them the 'most entertaining' couple of them all.
Ramdayal (Sohail Khan) and Phoolwati (Isha Koppikar) are small town newly weds, who are dying to get rid of their virginity but they have a long way to go before they achieve their goal!
The title of the 'most hilarious' couple goes to them, considering their even more hilarious dilemma…
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "The Salman-Priyanka pair will be the most popular and even my favourite of them all but one pair to watch out for is that of John Abraham and Vidya Balan as they share amazing chemistry and look stunning together."
With each of them having a unique story to tell…the audiences are going to face quite a tough time choosing the best of them all!
