Yes, that can be a proper reason. What we need to keep in mind that this show is not set within 21st century. This is what, around 1600's, and I personally think Jalal is actually the better example of a king, who at least cares about a girl and does not abduct her or force her. Rather, he wants her to come to him. That is as nice a king can get. We should not confuse men today with a muslim king of 15th-16th century. That is a completely pointless task. 😊 Good explanation btw.
