Separating Samud would send such a bad message...

Yes...Dont you think?

They had PMS. And please dont think that by this I mean to state Kumud's purity or impurity...I just wanna say that Kumud's crying after PMS would TOTALLY be justified if they get her married to somebody else...and all that which Saras said to Guman that day would become a big fat lie. And that would certainly make kumud impure.
And we all know what kind of message this sends..keeping in mind that almost ALL age groups view this show.

Next...Samud have now considered each other as husband and wife. And have made so many promises to love each other. Separating them would turn into a message that even though you love somebody more than your life and no matter how many promises are made..and even tough your love is true..there is no guarantee they will end up together :(
Saaaddd...but its just soo true.

And another thing to consider... Saras has always had a tough time. You can almost see just darkness in his life :( and now bechara found true love..and the light is returning back to his life...but it'll vanish once they get separated. ..and this just sends a message that sometimes there is no hope in life :(

I am sorry if I hurt anyone or wrote anything which seemed inappropriate. .but I just wanna say that currently, cvs have created a n atmosphere which SHOULD have to have a happy ending...or else I dont know why they have shown so much of passion...which would send such a bad, hopeless message to all viewers:(((

I agree! If they separate for good or worse still in the end Saras marries Kusum (as per the novel), then the whole thing would be a shocking mess!

The message would be no matter how true your love, you just might end up marrying other people and its OK?? How can that be a love saga? Kumud becomes a widow and Saras marries her sister! It just seems like cheating the audience with a totally hopeless story! After all, what applies in that old book re the re marriage of widows don't apply in this day and age! To suggest or to propagate it in any way will send such a backward and negative message to the audience!

Agreed! Am watching it for the adaptation of the original story and if they eff that up in any way, then I'm out. But I ain't jumping ship just yet... I also agree with McDarcyfan, Saraswatichandra, the novel, does not apply in this day and age, and not after some other things which have already been shown in the story. I am hoping for a contemporary, fresh take on the premise and I will not watch it for a rehash of HDDCS on the small-screen either 😕

i understand your sentiments, but there's no point in showing a story from a novel if they're just gonna change the most important part of it. then they may as well show another story by another name. but this is a story which has a certain outcome which may not be agreeable to some, but that's what makes it unique and poignant and to change it just to appease fans would show that they have no conviction in their own choice and script.

Copying a post of mine from Vaishali's thread

What I think-

SLB has the guts to move to a seperation track just like it went in the novel, knowing fully well how much the fans love samud together...and will hate him for it..and he doesn't have high trps..

This is the hardest part since he risks losing a large part of the show's loyal loyal audience at this stage itself

If he has climbed this mountain, why will he then later make a HDDCS version?

All the adaptations in the show so far have only helped to make the characters believable for today's times, but the essence and overall trajectory have not been changed...

So it will continue like the novel...maybe the new character maybe be rounded off a little...but kumud is going to go through rocky times and samud love will be the rock both will stand on in order to fight the storms...

We also have to remember that while saras and kumud continued to love each other in the novel during their seperation, kumud who had a high sense of propriety towards the institution of marriage remained true to her abusive husband and kept saras at arm's length despite her inner desire to physically reach out to him...saras too understood kumud's perspective and supported her wish..

Maybe that is where the HDDCS comparision is coming from in the news items for this new track...

And that will be the love story to watch out for..the regrets, the longing, the duty, the sacrifices and then finding the strength to live for one more day!

I am sure gautam and jennifer will do full justice to that track..

So we should chill out and enjoy a feast of a 'real' love story...uncompromising and pure.

It's not going to send a wrong message...it's just showing the fact that life doesn't go as planned as we think. In fact, I'm glad the separation is happening..The separation just proves their love is eternal and pure...the message in dark gloomy love stories impacts the audience more and makes them love the love story all the more. Plus when Saras and Kumud are seperated from each other, the love story will be more intense...they will be far, but not far enough...and close too, but not close enough..the tension will be oozing! Sure yes Saras and Kumud consummated- but that's one thing that they will cling onto. Knowing they were once together in their lifetime. It's all they have now. Example-If Titanic hadn't had a sad ending of Jack and Rose not getting together, we wouldn't remember it all the time. This is why Saraswatichandra is a class apart. I say just keep watching! :) The show will surprise you.

Your jumping far ahead of what is being shown in the story. Everything that you've mentioned is going to take a long time to come. The drama has just started in the story- and let me tell you, the plot is true to the book. I've read it. But the whole Kumud becoming a widow and no widow remarriage- doesn't apply to this era now. So I'm sure it will be modified...but that's a long time to come. So I say sit back and relax and enjoy the journey cause the separation was ALWAYS going to happen.
