It was early morning n Gayatri n Durjjan were at Shailendra's house ...gayatri began 'listen shailendra , I was going to tell u that we need to arrange the marriage within 2 days , as u urself know its just 6 months to the elections... the earlier we get the files, the safer ur position be... so...' 'within 2 days?!' exclaimed a shocked Shailendra ... ' r u out of ur mind, ma sahib... I have so many meetings n stuff n being the defense minister I can't just rush my only daughter's marriage like this...I have a reputation to keep... No...it will be conducted in all the elaborate...' Gayatri cut across him, impatient 'u urself said what just happened ... I can't guarantee u that krishna will still be interested if u plan to extend this for a month ... he most certainly won't be... strike the rod when its hot, shailendra... now that u have done the mistake of almost letting him take what he wanted so badly , don't do the next mistake of letting go of the tiniest opportunity to get the files...! don't worry ! something tells me that he will not be bored of her very soon... just get ur daughter to work!!!...ASAP!... u can decide what's ur priority , most ... ur reputation or the files...! ' said Gayatri , nodding at durjjan for support...

Durjjan looked as if he had reached heaven , n Shailendra looked disbelieving ...'what?...what did u say? Is it true ?... ha! Then after securing the files , we could use the girl to swipe him off the face of earth !!!... n we will make sure that our hands r clean ... if ur daughter gets caught , she will be dead ...that's the end of it !!!... ' said durjjan excitedly ...shailendra smiled reluctantly ...'hmmm... don't get too much excited , friend ...it's sajjan n his son we r talking about ... i won't believe we r safe until i get the files or see krishna's dead body ...' 'ha, don't worry shailendra ... this time Sajjan singh will certainly see his son's dead body ...oh, I can't wait for the day' said durjjan , an evil glee in his face... gayatri smiled at both of them...

'what ? today is sangeet n tmw is marriage ?' said a bleary eyed Pratigya , still weak n tired , trying to sit up in bed ...her fever has lessened but she was feeling really weak bec she didn't ate a thing yesterday ...n for that matter even now... manjula was pouring her orange juice n handling her slices of bread ...'yes, now eat it... all the guests will be arriving soon... u need to get urself up for the functions ...hurry up...eat!' 'no!...' said pratigya , trying to get up from the bed ...'what? what did u say?' asked manjula , her eyes narrowing ... 'I want to see my mother... did she ate anything ?' asked Pratigya as she walked weakly towards the door ...'listen here, girl...U...' began manjula , but pratigya cut her short...'no , u listen to me...i won't eat either the food or medicine unless my mother is fed properly ...n I want to see her , Now! ' said pratigya , her voice strong ...'let her see renuka, manjula' said Shailendra from the door way ... Pratigya threw him a look of disgust before slowly walking towards her mother's room...'hmmm...u think that u r hard pressed here , girl... u wait till u go to him... ' chuckled shailendra , as he n manjula watched Pratigya walking away... 'why did u ?' began manjula , but shailendra said , interrupting her 'the guests r arriving ... i don't want any more drama ... let her think that we r doing bits n pieces for her ... always reminding her that we could do much worse , if she don't co-operate ...' shailendra smirked ...

Pratigya cradled her mother in her lap, feeding her lovingly ... renuka looked drowsy ... she kept running her hand over her daughter's arm n chin ...'pratigya... leave me at my fate... pls... don't ruin my life for me... my life is over ...no! was over long ago... ur life is just starting ... live it ... don't kill it , beti...' she kept on saying , while Pratigya ignored her , trying not to cry, her eyes fixed on the barrel of the gun visible through the curtains ...one wrong step n her mother will be dead... 'no, ma ...eat silently... we will talk about it later ...' she said , kissing her mother's forehead...'oh...no! u have fever... ' gasped renuka , suddenly getting up n grabbing pratigya... she checked her neck n forehead , feeling concerned ... 'did u have medicines , beti...u ' she half screamed , overcome with all kinds of emotions n fears ... 'yes, ma , yes...relax..I am alright ... I am alright ...don't worry about me... here , take ur medicines ... n sleep well ma...' pratigya said , fighting back her tears ... renuka tried to protest , but stopped abruptly as she saw the bodyguard aim his gun at pratigya ... fearful to the core , she let pratigya lay her back against the cot ...both were aware of the fact that each of their lives n deaths now depended on the other...Pratigya clasped her mother's arms in hers, trying to smile ... 'i will get u out of here soon , ma...' she promised , more to herself than to renuka ...

'get lost , chandu... ' krishna mumbled angrily , as Chandu pestered him to get up , 10 am in the morning ... 'no, krishna ... listen...its ur haldi time now...get up...' 'what ?' muttered krishna , confused ...'haldi...ur haldi... so get up n bath n be ready ... ma sahib is waiting in the hall... ' said chandu , his voice dead , but smiling as he watched his friend adoringly ... oh , how much he had dreampt of this moment...! but with genuine happiness, teasing his brother like hell...! not like the way it was unfolding ... 'stop joking Chandu ...u know I don't like jokes ...let me sleep ...that she-devil has been disturbing me too much in the night...' said krishna , flipping to the other side ...'she – devil? Who?' asked Chandu , although he thought he knew who was it ...krishna sat up abruptly ...'no one...don't know what u r talking about ... ' he muttered irritably, not looking at chandu n reaching for the towel held by Chandu ... he paused on his way to bathroom , securing the towel around his waist, turning sharply 'what did u say? Haldi?!' ... 'hmm, yes...' said chandu , who couldn't help but chuckle boyishly n amusedly as he watched krishna's eyes widening in terror ...

'no way...I am not going to sit... but wait a minute ' shouted Krishna...'why is haldi happening now...i mean...' he continued confused ...'oh, ma sahib wants to finish off the wedding in 2 days... she don't want to waste our time n money in this circus... a valid point, i must say...' said chandu still smiling... Krishna pursed his lips , his face hard ...ok, so pratigya will come to his possession sooner ...the sooner the better...he raised an eyebrow at Chandu , indicating him to elaborate...'well...so the marriage is tmw, evening...' said chandu awkwardly ...krishna nodded grimly ...he looked around the room, musing ...so, she will be here tmw night...contrasting emotions of hatred, anger n desire ran through his veins ... he shook his head to clear the images threatening to emerge n said curtly 'well... tell ma sahib to cut the crap... n be ready , Chandu... the new shipment is arriving by noon ... n I...' he stopped groaning under his breath as an aunt of his , a distant relative of sajjan barged into the room giggling, followed closely by ma sahib... 'oh, so dulhe raja hasn't even bathed yet...buck up Krishna beta... we r all waiting down ...' Krishna cut her short , his face angry n irritated ...'I believe, u know that nobody... nobody...except Chandu n bauji r to enter my room without permission ...!don't make me repeat this aunty ji...' he said in a cold voice...

the color drained from the women's faces as Chandu tried to look apologetic , n Krishna glared at Ma sahib , irritated , before slamming the bathroom door shut... Gayatri forced a laugh n turned to the stunned aunty as she said , waving her hand 'oh... he is like that only ...u r seeing him after so many years ... the way the children change after teenage ...they grow this attitude so quickly...! ' 'I apologize on his behalf , ma sahib...u know him... ' said Chandu awkwardly ... 'oh..nothing ...nothing... I should've remembered it... ' said gayatri in a falsely cheery voice , as she pulled the aunty out of the room... the fact that she was humiliated in front of a servant was even more shameful , thought gayatri infuriated ...she just has to wait...once Krishna is out of the way, chandu will be shown his real place , she thought savagely ... she paused at the door n turned 'Chandu...pls make sure he stays...u know relatives n guests r arriving ... we don't want any awkwardness , pls...' 'I will try...' Chandu nodded... he himself don't want to hang around there any more sec... but bauji's reputation is at stake ...n also it will arouse suspicion n loose talk if the groom went missing from all the functions ... but convincing Krishna was going to take a herculean effort ... he thought grimly ...
