Given that there is a leap coming, the creatives need to sow the seeds for further drama and conflict. If my guess is right, they want to further estrange Ovi from her family. If she returns now, she is going to fly into a rage when she sees Purvi and Pari living with her parents. She is going to lose it if she feels that Archana may want to rectify past mistakes by getting Arjun and Purvi together. This is bound to create a huge rift which would contribute towards drama post the leap. Purvi getting involved with Manav and DK's business is also bound to wind Ovi up.
I think we are definitely headed towards an Arjun-Purvi reunion. Bringing Purvi into the business makes no sense otherwise. Chances are Onir's halo may be revealed too late and Arjun and Purvi may well fall at his feet and seek his blessings! Onir, as a character, seems to have reached a dead end. Nothing much left for him to do! Bringing Purvi and Onir back together is not going to make for any kind of drama unless they plan to end the show!
If my guess proves right, Ovi, and any child she may have, are going to be the antagonists post leap. Since Punni and Manju have outlived their use, the antagonist post has fallen vacant. And given Ovi's nature, she best fits the part. Purvi is too mahan for the job and Teju is hardly significant. If Ankita is going to play Ovi's daughter, then they could turn her into a Karan Virani and she could support her dad and her step mom over her own mother! Ekta is known for repeating her plots.
If Gauri chooses Soham over Sachin, there is a good chance that Sachin will join hands with Ovi.
