Story So Far - I'll try to be as brief as possible.
Arnav and Khushi are arranged into a marriage, which is later revealed to be something that was being discussed by their grandparents for a long time. The reason for the marriage is still not revealed, but financial problems are hinted at.
Arnav and Khushi, unwillingly, become man and wife. Khushi waits for Arnav in the room, however he throws her out, too angered by the fact that he is not tied down with a middle-class girl, to care about anything else. Anjali warns him, and he relents and Khushi comes back into the room, but she sleeps on the couch. Their relationship starts on a horrible note with Arnav making sure Khushi is aware that he hates her, and that he knows she is after his money.
Khushi, at first, takes it silently, however then she starts to retaliate when she realises he is not going to respect her.
Nani, seeing that their relationship is not becoming better, as Arnav spends most of the day at the office and ignores Khushi when at home, gets Khushi to start working at AR, and informs them of their honeymoon
Arnav resents her for that and takes out his anger out on her. Khushi has a terribly time at the office, and she starts to believe that he is a horrible person.
Arnav meanwhile is shown to start to become physically attracted to Khushi, and this makes him even more angry as he wants to hate her, however he finds himself getting attracted to her.
Khushi finds his hot and cold behaviour odd, but doesn't say anything and starts to ignore him.
As their honeymoon approaches, Arnav starts needling her and trying to get her to have an outburst at him so he will have a reason to hate her more, however she leaves him dumbfounded every time as he never rises to the bait.
On their honeymoon in Australia, Arnav abandons her on their second day, and when he returns, he pretends not to care about her distraught state.
Khushi, having had enough, finally lets go of all the anger that has been bubbling inside of her. She screams, shoves and pushes him, calling him all kinds of names, because she is hurt and broken at what he has been doing to her.
Arnav realising that he has gone too far, apologises, and Khushi is momentarily taken aback.
Arnav is also surprised that he apologised, as he never apologises that easily.
Arnav tries rectifying the situation by getting Aman to buy her jewellery and leaving an impersonal note, thinking that she will be happy with the materialistic gift, however Khushi gives it back to him and asks him to earn her forgiveness.
Arnav is baffled, and tries to, however she keeps refuting him at every turn.
At first he convinces himself that he does not need her forgiveness, however as he sees her carefree self with NK, he realises that he wants her to be happy with him, and realises that he is desperate to have her forgiveness.
And in this realisation, he also realises that he likes Khushi Singh Raizada.
Arnav starts taking baby steps to gain her trust, however she is very wary of him, and this indifference and apprehension of her starts to eat him up on the inside. Every thing he does, every step he takes towards making their marriage and relationship better is futile.
One day, after Christmas, Khushi falls down from a stool while reaching for chocolate and Arnav catches her, and shouts at her in concern. Khushi screams back, not understanding his genuine concern, and Arnav snaps the control he had held over his anger, and lets her know that whether she likes it or not, he will try to make this relationship work.
Khushi and Arnav, after a series of step forwards, and step backs, finally take a step together in rectifying their marriage.
Meanwhile, Anjali is trying to save Arnav and Khushi's marriage, and the past is yet to be unfolded.
