| The doomsday for the periodic drama is going to come very soon; with Raavan's director Ranjan Kumar Singh and the producer Gulshan Sachdeva at loggerheads. With the development of a serious confrontation between the two, director Ranjan is planning to soon quit the show.
As reported earlier, Sachdeva had sacked the executive producer Vaibhav Kulkarni owing to a huge loss of Rs 9 lakh incurred during Ravee Gupta's wedding.
According to our source, "Director Ranjan was very much against the fact that Vaibhav got sacked on behalf of the whole unit. The new development is that producer Gulshan had forced Ranjan to work on New Year's eve. It was at Umargaon, far away from Mumbai. Now, Ranjan is so miffed that he is thinking of quitting the show, all thanks to the producer's dictatorial commands."
Ranjan said, "It was December 31, and I was busy editing at Umargaon. Although, I had informed Gulshanji, that I want to spend the night with my family, he turned a deaf ear to my plea and I was away from my family working overnight. My wife is very angry with me and I have asked for leave of two-three days. But, now Gulshanji is not responding."
"As I could not keep my promise, my wife Preeti was very angry and we had a fight too. My son Pritanjan and daughter Sanjukta are also not talking to me. My wife is fuming due to Gulshanji's acts," he added.
So, is he quitting the show? "I don't want to comment on this issue. But, my family life has definitely been ruined due to Gulshanji," he said.
Producer Gulshan Sachdeva, said, "I have suffered a huge loss, so I thought sacking the EP was a fair move. As far as the December 31 night is concerned, even I was working then. I had promised my daughter also, but we have to meet the deadlines, so personal commitments can take a backseat. So, I think that the incident is not a big deal. And being the producer, I have to be strict otherwise everyone will take things for granted. I am the producer and I am liable to the channel for the telecast"
What about the brewing tensions? "Whatever happened are all professional differences. I have no personal grudge against Ranjan. As far as his quitting is concerned, he might be thinking about it but he has never discussed it with me," Gulshan added. |
