Fortunately no lingering over the disastrous munh dikhayi. Chhanchhan is deeply embarrassed that Umaben was embarrassed. Umaben doesn't mind – it's all for the greater good.

Umaben tries to get the rotimaker banned by criticizing the rotis – her effort backfires as the rotis for the family dinner are made by hand as usual. Manek tells her she might need to visit the dentist.

Chhanchhan sees another tradition in the BS house that she does not like – the bahus eat after the rest of the family, and in the kitchen.

Manav steals back at night to be with his beloved wife ... and gets beaten up for his pains! Leading to some really cute ChhanMan scenes at night, as a repentant Chhanchhan lovingly administers balm to his wounds...… and in the morning, as she even more lovingly wakes him up. Manav tries to take advantage of the moment... till Ranjana bhabhi interrupts with 'bad tea'.

Ranjana uses her moment to chugli karo to Manav about how she and Sanjana got into trouble, and not only them, Baa got embarrassed ... all because Chhanchhan doesn't know how to wear a saree properly. Chhanchhan is very embarrassed and nervous ... Manav is surprised ... why can't you walk in a saree, when the bhabhis do all the work in them?
But after Ranjana leaves, he's more understanding ... yet not very helpful ... you'll learn.

Not if Umaben has anything to do with it. Ranjana is gleeful ... she's created some trouble for Chhanchhan ... Manav wasn't happy she couldn't manage a saree. Umaben overhears. Another chance for Divide and Rule .. this time she will win!!!

Chhanchhan tries to settle into the family by helping the bhabhis in the kitchen … but in her own way. The first break with the norm – lemon tea. Umaben is ready to criticize ... the problem is, her sons like the new tea.

Mukut doesn't like his wife to sit with him even for a cup of tea. Neither does Umaben, apparently.

Babuji decrees that Manav needs to earn his living like the other sons – office for Manav.About time too! 😆

Umaben sees that Chhanchhan is settling in far too easily, and so far no one has found her to be a misfit. So her next plan – she tells Chhanchhan confidentially in the privacy of her room, that she is allowed to wear suits. Chhanchhan is happy to observe the BS tradition of wearing sarees, but Umaben insists. Suits for Chhanchhan.

And immediately thereafter, Umaben moans to the other three bahus on how her time has come to retire to an old age home, as Chhanchhan is taking over the reins of the house and overturning all the rules ... starting with her insistence on wearing suits instead of sarees.

Ranjana and Sanjana react exactly as Umaben had planned ... open rebellion. They storm off to complain to their husbands about the unfairness of the rules. Kaumudi is surprised, she didn't expect this from Chhanchhan.

Family council of war in the hall ... Manthan complains to Babuji about the differentiation ... why are the rules not the same for all? Babuji decides to put his foot down, while Umaben plays the helpless martyr ... what could I do? She is from a different sort of family, not our type …Manav is surprised at the calls for Chhanchhan, and offers to call her. Umaben refuses ... she doesn't want Chhanchhan getting wind of this ...

And of course Chhanchhan takes the wind out of Umaben's sails very effectively ... by emerging in a saree! 😆 Umaben's face ... what a whammy! 😆

And to add insult to injury, Umaben's injury, that is ... Chhanchhan gave a brief but pointed lecture on how she believes clothes don't indicate respect for elders, one's behaviour and manners do that ... but since this house believes in such archaic outdated rules, she will humor them all for the present, and wear the saree if that's what they want, because she doesn't want the others to feel less privileged 'laadli' bahus. Ummm ... not in so many words, she dressed it up nicer than that ... but that was the general message.
Babuji swallowed it all ... and was very impressed. What lovely sanskaar his youngest bahu has. And she makes a lot of sense too. 😛

Umaben's plan just blew up in her face. 😆 And she had an anxious moment, when Babuji caught Chhanchhan's words that she had given permission to Chhanchhan to wear suits, Chhanchhan did not decide to do so without permission.

Don't think Manthan quite swallowed Umaben's hasty cover up on that one.

Umaben seizes her next chance ... when Chhanchhan offers to help the fasting bahus with the kitchen work, and expresses how unfair it is that they work while fasting, Umaben hands over all responsibility of the dinner to Chhanchhan. The three bahus can take a break. Which means none of them can help her. 😲

Chhanchhan realizes this is a sort of test ... Kaumudi reassures her it is another tradition. The new bride always opens her kitchen by feeding the family.

Since Chhanchhan knows her cooking skills, and is worried about the family dinner more than some antiquated 'rasams' 😉 ... she uses technology again ... a live tutorial on video chat by Kaumudi.

And Umaben's second plan of the day bites the dust ... no humiliation for Chhanchhan ... dinner is ready on time and is rather good too!

Chhanchhan is scoring major Brownie points with Babuji! Her chokha pujan is done and she made sure the family got a good dinner too. She acknowledges Kaumudi's help and Babuji approves. She also refuses any 'nek' other than the blessings of her in-laws, which Babuji gives happily, and Umaben reluctantly ... after Babuji glares at her ... "woman, get a move on and lift that hand!"

Umaben is fuming so much, she is soon going to go up in smoke at this rate! 😆

The next tradition to disturb Chhanchhan ... doesn't everyone put their own dirty plates in the kitchen in this house?

Sanjana tells her it's another point of difference between her maayka and sasuraal, Chhanchhan disagrees softly ... it's a point of difference between the way men and women are treated, not between maayka and sasuraal. However, she keeps quiet for the moment.

Umaben, still smarting at her defeat, sees Manav romancing Chhanchhan in public yet again ... nothing she does is putting her besotted son off his beautiful biwi! Time to create some more distance between them – Chhanchhan is told to finish washing the dirty dishes on her own.

Plan flop again ... Manav promptly comes in to help his wife. In between some more flirting and romancing, that is ...😉

He leaves to attend a call ... Sanjana comes in and distracts Chhanchhan and her pallu catches fire. 😲 Their combined screams get all the family in ... Manav rushes to save Chhanchhan, Manthan and Kaumudi adds their help and the fire is extinguished ... leaving a very shaken Manav and Chhanchhan holding each other tight.😳

Family conference ... the rest of the family is equally shaken, including Babuji ... he asks Chhanchhan how this happened, Chhanchhan explains there was a lot of work and her pallu slipped.

Did Babuji wonder that Chhanchhan was doing all the work when they have a maid servant ... especially after cooking dinner single-handedly? If he did, he didn't say so ... hmmm.

Umaben tries to point out that the rest all work in sarees and nothing like this has ever happened ... Babuji shuts her up, the point is not that it didn't happen with anyone else, the point is that it did happen with one person.

And, Babuji decrees ... no more sarees and pallu for Chhanchhan ... not until she is more comfortable in them. The safety and comfort of the family members is more important than any family traditions.

Now that is a sensible opinion!!! 👏

Umaben just got hit with a triple whammy! 😆

Next morning, Chhanchhan is happy and glowing in a suit! Ranjana can't hold back her jealousy any more ... why are the rules changing only for her? Not for us? So Chhanchhan promises to talk to mummyji on their behalf. Leaving Kaumudi very worried ...
